Answers: You are sagacious to plan ahead. If I were you, I would speech to my boss and explain that while I would be happy to stay if they want me, I hold to look elsewhere because I cannot take a casual on being unwaged for a month. I would tell him that I will hold him informed of any progress I make contained by getting another job and will not commit to a up to date job when I hold an offer lacking giving this company a chance to get its decision.

Then I would start a serious situation search and preserve my word. When a job comes up, I would inform the boss and consent to him tell me what the company have decided. At that point you hold to make a choice. As long as you are open out and honest with your company, they will appreciate it. Best of luck.
Serge M give you some excellent advice. If you are so tight on money I would also support you to brown bag your lunches and receive a part time assignment to put some money aside so you have a cushion if things don't work out near this job or another post.

Just put down flexible for the starting date on an application and that you must give 2 weeks distinguish. Employers like to see a party who is responsible enough to want to bequeath notice.

I want to be an administrative assistant...can you support?

I was thinking of taking a class that teach you how to use microsoft excel, outlook, etc. Do you know if there are any free ones out here? I live in Florida and be hoping to find one. Also, how much to they typically pay? I put together $11 an hour as a receptionist now, and I want to move up.

Answers: Go to your local Worknet. They proposition free classes on Microsoft programs. Entry level AA start around $11-12/hr and they require multi tasking skills, organizational skills, and clearly computer programs. It is wise that you are taking these courses, they are extraordinarily important when you are applying as an AA. The most commonly used programs for AA's are Word, Excel, Outlook and sometimes, Quickbooks. Basic awareness on Quickbooks would not hurt. After you finish your program, register with employment agencies. These companies proposal free service to people who are looking for work. And since you are looking for an entry even admin position, they can help you because they enjoy a lot of contacts contained by the area and can seize your foot in the door.
I've never set of any free classes for the Microsoft application but i do know that in my nouns the average cost could cost like $200 for adjectives of the applications (Word, Excell, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook etc)

Here is a basic tutorial that I found on the pattern for you:

But I think you should be surrounded by the class to actually fathom out and learn it
Check your local library. Sometimes they give classes for free. Most community colleges also have programs during the summer for a allowance. A bottom of the barrel administrative assistant can variety $10-15hr. But as you gain more skills and upgrade your position, you can be making upwards of $50K+/yr or even 80K+/yr if you upgrade to an executive assistant. I'm planning on making the move to an E.A. next year. Good luck.

Does anyone own a different hourly rate of money for overtime ??

Basically, My hubbie's company pay lb6.08 per hour in general but lb6.25 per hour for overtime.
Just seems a bit bizarre. Has anyone else got duplicate set up ??

Answers: Overtime should be paid at time and a partially, thats the law.
In Canada, overtime is remunerated at 1.5 times your normal hourly rate. It can be up to 2-3 times on some holidays depending on the league contract.
P.S. Obviously it depends where you live whether it is by imperative or not. In Canada it IS the law (for minimum 1.5 times regular pay).
usually its time and a partially
and if your lucky weekends double time
i get 11 per hour and time and a partly for overtime so thats 16 extra hourly
Crikey that's never right.

Im sure it should be either time and partially minimum or double time.
There are no laws roughly speaking it, just conventions. I don't win paid anything at adjectives for overtime, but I accept I sometimes inevitability to stop late to return with the job done and factor that into my common salary expectations.

Still, Time plus 2.8% is an weird and wonderful number - hardly worth it!
The extra money is for the increased commitment and flexibility involved within doing over time above the basic contracted hours.

There are no British law on this, and as a rule it is quite adjectives to get payed the extra. I've worked contained by jobs where on earth you only capture this for bank holidays etc so I would consider anything extra to be a adjectives benefit.
IT IS NOT LAW THAT OVERTIME WILL BE PAID AT TIME AND HALF IT IS ACCEPTED CONVENTION
YOUR HUBBY IS WORKING FOR THE WRONG COMPANY
I usually get time and a partly (1.5) times my regular pay and double on weekends
