How do you start your job as a Ultrasound tech?

How do you become an ultrasound tech? How many years of schooling do you hold to go through? Whats the income like out of university?

Answers: When thinking about entering an ultrasound program, you have need of not be concerned so much about tag vs. degree. What is far-reaching is that you go to an ACCREDITED program, whether it is college or hospital base. An accredited program allows you to bear your registry (licensing) exams upon graduation. Once you get licensed, you will never be asked more or less your schooling again. An employer does not care what route you rob to get licensed, they lately want you to have that license.

Don't spend in dribs and drabs your time or money on a NON-accredited program. Upon completion and graduation from a NON-accredited program, you must work in the pen of sonography for a full year prior to taking your licensing examinations. But, you will hold a hard time finding an employer to hire you, unless you are licensed.

I would suggest you see an imaging department to get an conception of what ultrasonographers do daily. There is much more to it than scan pregnant women. Most people own no idea how much is involved surrounded by this career!

You can find a catalogue of accredited school in your nouns, by searching "diagnostic medical sonography" and your state at the following site. There are links provided for respectively program, which will give you added information (including course duration):
