Try the website of your local paper. Note - most employer will not look for resumes. Applying to ads get better results.

Respiratory Therapist Career - Stressfulll?
I have a B.S. within Economics but realized that the financial pasture is not where I want to be. I enjoy been researching various health nurture jobs and respiratory psychoanalyst interests me (b/c it requires less university than pharmacy). I read up on the job descriptions online but still not sure if this is right for me. I don't know if i can work near dying patients but at the same time i grain that helping others will be rewarding.Any fellow RT want to elaborate on their job and the stress levels that they facade?
Answers: I am a retired RT, 23 years in the area. It has be five years since I retired.Please give terribly serious consideration to your choice. If you have trouble handling stress surrounded by the least little bit perchance an alternate choice would be wise. Consider these points,
Your work hours will be anything but usual
Your work load will consist of seeing 20-30 Pt's. surrounded by your shift.
You will be required to participate surrounded by ER situations, talk almost a little stress!
Many hospitals immediately require you to work at more than one facility.
Holidays and weekends are just another time at the farm.
Your assignment may require you to cross train with others. Sometimes, lab, pt, etc.
You will receive little naming for your efforts, recurrently RT is under utilized. Doctors habitually do not use their knowledge or request their input. More commonly it is "do this"
Bottom line is you are the one operating the life span support systems. You need to know your errand and be able to toy with anything that is thrown your means of access. Be it a molested child, or your best friend in an auto misfortune. A doctor who knows far smaller number than you, or an overworked RN .
Stress management is a requirement.
RT is so exciting. You HAVE to be confident surrounded by yourself and have excellent math/science and think-on-your-feet skills. Rts are responsible for so much that go on and are usually underappreciated. You do work with dying patients, but more so next to helping patients breathe better. It's very rewarding to monitor your patients heal. It is pretty physically demanding and your are responsible for breathing tx, lenient assesments, ventilators, bipaps, cpaps, ABGs, intubations/extubations, CODES, etc. There is a lot to the career but I love my job. I work as a Respiratory Therapy Tech because I started the clinical program contained by college and ended up failing a CardioPulmonary Hemodynamics class, so I be let progress from the program but got to keep hold of my job. I am similar to a psychoanalyst, but more limited on what I am allowed to do. Respiratory School is markedly demanding (LOTS of studying, lots of information and 2 full years of clinicals). I have not go back to Respiratory School (I enjoy to repeat the whole entity, not just the class I failed) because I am upset of it because it is so hard. Good luck. It's a wonderful area and we need more RTs everywhere!
