Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Help!! im leaving my job ive been here only for 7 months do i have to do a leaving speech? what do i say??

Answers: Tell them to 'Kiss my sweet behind.'

You don't have to say anything except I quit. Remember though you will be burning a bridge if you do that. Give them 2 weeks notice but I'd be surprised if they accept it. More than likely you'll be told to pack and leave.

Don't expect an employer to let you go nicely. If they want you to be gone expect it to be short and sweet.

This isn't 1925.

I'll say the same thing. If they let you stay long enough to get a drink of water before you're gone be happy. No one is going to ask you to say jack anything.
if it's a full time job i think you have to give them at least a month's notice. and if you don't have at least a year of experience working there i don't you would need to write a note of any sort.

but it'd be better if you just ask your boss/manager/coworkers

I would like to become an estate agent, any help or advice would be great. cheers?

Answers: In the UK:

Reasonable A-levels are a requirement. Helpful to include something business related, and possibly maths. But any should do.

Beyond this, a degree is not essential, but useful - particularly for high end roles (i.e. expensive London properties, overseas buyers etc.).

Experience; not essential to have any, as it is a career you are likely to start at the bottom. But it would really help you to stand out if you had sales experience, or at the very least customer service experience.

http://www.jobs-in-estate-agency.com/ is the only site approved by the industry association (National Association of Estate Agents). But it might be more practical to look locally, even with asking in stores to see if they have vacancies for people starting out...

Good luck!
Are you prepared to Die at a youg age of shame?

Should I call for potential employer?

Last week, I went to four interviews beside this company. The need to hire straight. At the end of the final interview, one planner said they were have a meeting Monday morning and putting offer on the table Tuesday (today.) I got the impress they wanted to drug interview those hired today. Now it's almost 11:30 and no word at all.

Would it be okay to give the name them around noon? It's a sale job, I can't think about persistance would hurt me. What do you think?

Answers: You're surely right to call. Calling will do two things: Let them know a moment ago how interested you still are and finally give you an answer roughly speaking where you stand near this position.

Have a little Post-It minute with a few conversation points near you contained by case you receive flustered. Remember to ask about whether or not you entail to come in for the drug check, ask if they don't have an answer later, when they expect to and if you should call them to hear it or if you'll be contacted whether or not you get hold of the job.

Good luck!
Yes, give the name. It shows you are interested.
