Careers Employment Questions and Answers

What should I do within this situation near my work?

Im 16 years old and I am a receptionist for a Labour Hire company.
I started this chore in July 2007, on the condition that I would work a 3 month probation time and then a traineeship would start. Due to spontaneous company changes, my probation time was extended until November 2007.

Now, In February 2008, I am still on traineeship wages (which are slightly low!), still working 38 hours a week (fulltime), and am NOT ON A TRAINEESHIP YET.

What do I do?
Whats the average pay for a 16yr feeble (almost 17) in reception?
And, if I should of late approach my boss, what should I say? She is pretty intimidating and "unapproachable" so I get really coy around her.

Im afraid she might be taking advantage of my age. Because she know I dont have much experience to realise she's using me. is this possible?

Please aid =[

Answers: I think the best approach is to approach your boss and ask her what your future holds next to the company. Obviously because of changes, your probationary spell was extended but you requirement to know what, if any, future in that is with the company.
Because if within is little future, later it is a good belief to start looking elsewhere and you have the right to know roughly it.
Face your fear, walk and ask her!
First you should look at the papers you received when you were hired to see if you enjoy anything in writing. Then whether you do or don't distribute your boss an e-mail (or note) explaining what you explained on this site and wait for a response and proceed suitably. Sometimes
you just necessitate to ask questions - Good Luck!
Start looking for another receptionist situation. You have satisfactory experience to find another job, and it is easier to find a mission when you have one than when you don't. When you impart your 2 week notice, expect to be tolerate go that light of day, as the company has the right to adopt but not allow you to work your notice. You noticeably have a work ethic, and in that is someone out there who will appreciate you and wages you accordingly. When you apply don't be refusal, just voice that you are wanting to move up and there is no room for growth for you at your present opening.

What should I do contained by this situation, or how should I approach my boss??

Answers: Decide first how much you really need this opening...then how can you apply for another position beside another company using this position as experience. If none of that works then I suggest that you phone call the Labor Department or state to your boss you are thinking about calling them.

Your college counselor should be able to assist and also the youth labor department that your college is associated with.
you should be getting at tiniest minimum wage or you could actually sue. Approach your boss and agree to them know about this immediatley. Because if I be you I rather quit if they dont distribute a raise, thats straight up slavery within another title.
