Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Is it legal to ask a potential employee for color photocopies of SS card and ID?

Answers: It's only legal if you've actually been hired for the job.

I wouldn't want them to copy it by color. Black and white is the method usually used.

I wouldn't allow my ss card to be color copied.
I believe it would be illegal. As a potential employer, when verifying employment eligibility (DHS Form I-9), you cannot discriminate or specify which documents you will accept. You can only refer an employee to the types of documents you CAN accept. Yes a State Driver's License is a List B and Social Security Card is a List C, but you cannot request that specifically.

Also, have they been offered a job?

I wouldn't encourage you to ask for non-notarized documents...it's your signature on the I-9 and you are ultimately responsible for signing the bottom line.

If you choose to collect and keep the photocopies with the I-9, you must keep it for all employees. If not, be sure to shred everything.

Again, remember, the liability is ultimately with you if you choose do not have whatever documents that are sent to you notarized.
When you fax a black and white copy of a ss card and dl it is hard to read. Color copies are much easier to read. Our office (me actually) faxes DL and SS card to corporate offices and safety coordinators with all new hire applicants

How much money do I enjoy to let go beforehand starting to be in motion for interviews?

I am trying to get a charge out of state , because that's where most of my job are . None in my state. Thing is I am confused as if to how much I should create , I wanna move as far away as possible. But I have anxiety and it's slaughter me even to think that
Some companies will compensate for expenses for interview and relocation , while some just don't .
That vehicle I have to rate for plane tickets from my pocket.

And i have no hypothesis how much it'll cost. I live in unsullied york . I can work as far as California.

What should I do ??

Answers: Locating the state is the first importance. But if you can locate a undertaking that you are highly interested first, next this is where you will obligation to manage your center around. Never expect an employer to dish out moving expenses. Only if desperate, will they look into assisting.
Having friends surrounded by other cities is a plus; if you can crash their living space, this is helpful for a short term. Don't get desperate because you can set yourself up for living within a shelter or even on the streets. Take a perceptive route and save as much as you can and net sure you get a assignment first before moving.
I would apply to roles and state on your CV that you intend to move and that you would be relaxed to do an initial telephone interview, back meeting surrounded by person for a second interview.

That passageway, you gauge a few things

1) are they interested contained by you and are you interested in them. You may want one company isn't for you. If that's the case, you a short time ago saved yourself a pile of time and money! Likewise, if they are not interested in you.
2)I would enjoy thought they would be more likely to give to pay your travel expenses if they enjoy already interviewed you on the phone and are interested in you.
3) you can fit contained by many more handset interviews per week, than you can face to facade interviews. This increases your chances of finding a duty.
4) If you can do all the initial cell phone interviews, you can fly out there for the obverse to face interviews and squeeze them within to a short period of time. Then fly posterior! More money and time saved

I am planning on taking a CNA course in my nouns, and I am excited about it, but do you achieve used to bathing and changin "old" people?? I am also going to be starting phlebotomy training in Aug. 2008 and I will be done beside that in May 2008. I really want to bring into the medical field, and I will other have a living. My husband was out of work in Nov. 2007 from construction and he in recent times got a opportunity at a hospital doing floor care(pays pretty good) so I am also thinking becoming a CNA would be good for me and my relatives, something that I know is stable, and neither my husband or myself have to verbs about getting laid-off. Any warning would be great. Thanks. Oh and it is much easier getting a phlebotomy job if you enjoy worked in the medical paddock for a year.

Answers: Phlebotomy is good, however, some places require records. Generally, most reputable training programs will set you up for this at the end.
CNA work is irregular. If you are interested, seek out aide work within a hospital. Working in a nursing home is a back-breaking, unsatisfactory, yet lord pursuit (unless you are interested in geriatric care).
I started surrounded by a hospital and aides make nearly $13.00/hr next to good benefits. Moreover, if you any interest contained by nursing or another healthcare field requiring further training, there is money available contained by the hospitals.
Good Luck
Yes. You get use to the brief.

Being a CNA is a good place to start. I'm getting for a while burnt out very soon though. I only kind $8.90/hr. So I'm looking at other options. Being a Phlebotomist will be smaller amount physically demanding. The job shelter is good contained by health thought.

I think you enjoy made a good choice, freshly continue beside your education so you can bring an even better job.
