Okay circumstance check quiz...?
I filled out an application for an assistant officer position had 3 interviews and be offered the job..Ok jam-packed out my paperwork W2's all that..Now I'm waiting on the environment check..On the app when it asks "have you be convicted of a crime" I answered "NO" well, I enjoy..I got a DUI when I be 20, dumbest thing I ever did I already Know that..I regret it everyday..powerfully, I also got driving on suspended license too..I am almost 24 very soon and that's all that I've gotten within trouble for..So should I be worried about the environment check? I mean, I lied but it's a driving offense it aint similar to I stole money or anything which is what they want to know I'm sure..any advice should I be freakin out? Is it time to start lookin for another career?Answers: Here is the deal. Yes, it is a driving offense which in general is not something that you need to put down.
But the point with a DUI is that it is also considered a misdemeanor. Which is something that you necessitate to put down.
Most likely, if they look at your story, they wont hold the fact that you didnt put it down against you. Or at most minuscule, I wouldnt. If they do mention something about it, communicate them that you didnt know that driving offenses qualified as something that you needed to tell them give or take a few. Act like you thought that a DUI be in matching category as running a redlight or not putting on your seatbelt.
You should be okay.
Good luck
You might be in trouble.
It depends on how extensive of a perspective check they do on you. In most cases, this wil probably show up.
I would not say anything even so, just hang on to your fingers crossed. But, for good estimate, don't discontinue the job poke about yet any. Keep it going as a backup plan in grip they find out and don't want to hire you.
It will come up in the environment. You could have put "a misdemeanor - driving contravention in 2004", and quit it at that. But since you said "NO" you are technically being dishonest. I get a DUI in my college years, and it's difficult to put on applications even though it's be over 15 years. The problem here is that it's only be 4 years, DUI's stay on your record for 8 years. If you seize caught lying on your application, what is the employer going to think? Put yourself contained by their shoes.
But if you were honest up front, they may not even blink an eye bring they are only looking for felony. Your application has to meeting up with your circumstance. Background checks take a look at criminal history, lessons, and past work date. You may get by, but if they nickname you to say there's a problem and engineer some excuse about how the commission isn't available anymore, than you'll know why.
You should have be honest on your application. They probably wouldn't have care since they were pretty minor problems. Employers usually look for break-in, fraud, etc. But if they wanted to they could fire you at any time simply for lying on your application. I would wait to see what happen before quitting. They may not thinking.
Small Law Office needs HR guide lines such as PTO, Vacation, etc.?
Answers: Your office administrator / office manager should already have this stuff.
However, if not, you should find out what other similarly situated firms (same size or smaller) offer.
I think a 2-week vacation, 2 weeks sick leave (accumulated at a rate of 4 hours per pay period) is fairly standard. You can either have it combined as PTO or separate it into vacation and sick time.
Some firms - once you leave/submit your resignation, your sick time is cancelled. Vacation time is usually paid upon leaving (because it's considered "earned").
Holidays - there are standard holidays (7-8) and court holidays (11-13). Decide which ones you want to provide but usually Christmas, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving & Day After Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day are standard. The others (Martin Luther King birthday, President's Day, Lincoln's Birthday, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day are not standard).
Doesn't the Office Administrator have that information?
That person is typically responsible for each of the above you mentioned.
I have a great resource for you -- visit the website below. I use it all the time for resource info.
