Friend's employer requires extra hours minus spot (Arizona); legalized?

My friend is working as a server in a local restaurant surrounded by Phoenix. His employer assigned him 3:00 PM until closing time (usually 10:00 PM) for this whole work week except Thursday. Today, Monday, his employer call him and requested his help at 11:00 AM. He agreed, assuming his regular workday would simply occur in advance and we arrived at 12:00 PM. Now his employer is requiring him to work until closing time. That makes (slightly more than) a ten hour morning. Is it legal for his employer to hold on to him there if he have no proper understanding of the situation? Is a ten hour time legal surrounded by Phoenix, AZ? Both of us are suspicious of this being criminal, but he is at work, and I get lost wade through labor laws online. Help please?

Answers: As long as he is salaried for the hours he works, they can change his shift.

Here is the Industrial Commission of Arizona's website:

You can contact them if you enjoy any questions.
Your not a association employee...you hold no one to support you. Your employer can do what he/she requirements.as long as it is reasonable..a 10 hour sunshine is reasonable..

I you don't close to it you always enjoy choices...like find a exotic job.
Yes, it's official. He can refuse, but shouldn't be surprised if he get fired if he does.
