Can you list 3 reasons to be a bus driver?

Answers: 1. You get your own little space that no one can invade, so you can play some tunes or keep a newspaper handy for when you're waiting for a shift to start

2. I love driving. I guess you don't mind driving - not so long back you were considering a taxi driver job, so that's a plus point. AND you'll never be the person tapping their foot impatiently because you're late for the meeting and traffic's slow. I go to uni in Manchester so always have to get the bus places, it drives me BONKERS when traffic's bad, but the drivers always seem so chilled. I guess cos it makes no difference to them, they're already at work! =)

3. Depending on your temperence, you can either enjoy the fact that you can open your doors when people are legging it for your bus - you can wait charitably for them. OR you can close them just before they arrive. A little harsh, but quite funny. It's providing a valuable service to the public, so most people are appreciative.

I had a fantastic bus driver the other day. He wasn't that good at driving and kept pulling out on people, so eventually a fellow driver beeped him. Anyway, the bus caught up with the guy who beeped and our driver beeped back, accompanied with the biggest belly-laugh I've ever heard. I suppose you had to be there but it was brilliant. Cheered me right up.
It beats a soddin factory:
You won't have to work with mind numbingly boring idiots:
You will be seeing different people day in day out:

Hows that?
If it's full time work. The pay and benefits should be pretty good. Learning to drive a big bus would be fun. You meet all different types of people. Good and bad :)

Hope this helps.
1 You can drive past old people at the bus stop
2 You can sit on your fat (a)rse and pile the weight on
3 You can hog the road and annoy everyone by cutting them up and pulling out without indicating.
Working on your own
Flexible hours
Free travel

However I almost became one and backed out because of the poor pay and having to be tied to the job for two years in return for free traing to obtain a PCV licence.
Reasons?
1. The pay for the actual hours working is really pretty good... however if you do not have a "a day" driving post you may need to have another source of income. An a day driving post gets pretty good money for actually time on the road. Roughly 14$ an hour, OK tons other jobs offer SO much more money, but it works for some.
2. You need to only work anywhere from 4 to 7 hours a day, every evening is free. If you work for a school, your weekends and summers are off.
3. The people you are around everyday, lighten your mode and brighten your spirit. Nobody enjoys being alone for long periods of time. We as human beings crave the company of others
Bus Drivers Rock!
Well...
1. Free travel - at the prices these days its worth it!
2. Socialising - make new friends everyday with all the people you meet.
3. Experienced driver - shows you are an experienced driver because you need a HGV Driving License
better then walking.
meet new and interesting people every day.
free travel.
