Do you deem that nursing is a treacherous post? what going on for blood borne pathogens and disease?

can this occupation cause plentifully of sickness in you??

Answers: OSHA have done a wonderful job at setting up guidelines that any prevent or greatly limit ones exposure to blood borne pathogens and contagious diseases (like TB, SARS, etc).

For drawing blood, we hold now special needles that retract into plastic housings to prevent us from accidentally sticking ourselves near used needles. Hospital rooms (and now frequent emergency rooms) have unenthusiastic pressure rooms that filter the air inside of them for patients who enjoy TB, or anything transmitted via airborne route. The list go one, but each hospital is required to hold a standardized set of protocols on how to deal next to patients with mixed types of infectious diseases, patients who have things that can be efficiently transmitted to other patients (MRSA) or patients who are easily suseptible to disease (immunosuppressed)

Having merely worked in emergency rooms, the antediluvian saying go that every nurse is as sick as a dog for their first year. After that, you've already been exposed to everything below the sun, and your immune system gets stronger after that. And, in actual fact that seems to hold been the skin for me: my first year as a nurse I was out adjectives of the time, now I single get mildly not a hundred percent for a few days at a time.

Most of the injury or risk that I've seen have been more the result of the employment itself: all of the lifting, pulling, stretching, etc. associated next to the profession. For what it's worth, nursing can be very labor intensive at times, and hospitals are in a minute starting to realize that and have sanctuary classes on the movement and transfer of patients, and also stretching exercises for nurses to do to control the chance of a job-related injury. (The end hospital I worked at actually have one!)
i've been a nurse for years and hold never picked up anything other then an occasional cold. Wearing gloves, wash your hands and following proper procedures greatly reduce the risk of picking anything up.
