You should contact your local job nucleus they will probably be able to advocate you but unfortunately you won't be entitled to much as you are self employed, you might seize statutory sick pay after 6 weeks Try this site:

Not from the UK here but I would imagine that you would first have to be paying into the system(whether that be strength insurance, unemployment insurance (or anything...it is insurance "to pay you a meger sum contained by case you getting sick or injured") so within other words, it is deducted from your wages. Once you are already sick or in the order of to be laid up, it is a bit late. No insurance company wishes to pay out anything.and near majority of the people that wages into the system, they do not collect anything as they remain healthy thruout their working lives.
So that money rewarded into the insurance is lost, but it was a "only in case" expense. Self employed ethnic group generally don't reward into a system, there by when they don't work, they do not attain any money.
That is the gamble.

You pretty much help them near whatever they obligation or find someone that can. Including post-mortem care.
Most places work within shifts- 7-3, 3-11, 11-7 or 12-12. You might be required to work some weekends.
