Starting a post at a Comcast Internet Trouble shooting center?
Hi, I'm a 20 year old mannish. I'm starting a job at a Comcast call upon center soon. I was a moment ago wondering what other people expect about their post there.. and if they wallow in it, how its like, etc. I did read for a moment and many relatives say its stressful, but i do not deliberate that will be a problem with me... inhabitants can yell at me adjectives they want and it won't hurt my feelings. Then again, I've never worked at a ring up center before.. okay i'm just asking your opinion on this type of job. Most people who have no call ctr customer svc experience bef comcast didnt later to long due to the stress, rules, metrics, monitoring, inaccuracy of comcast tools, and usual workplace problems. IT dept is a bit less stressful than video tech & billing as far as I hear, in my name ctr IT had a 1 min. freeze btw call...no other dept got that it be back to rear. It may be diff for you b/c each comcast region operate differently. What to expect, paid training is right, but training wont cover 1/2 your actual job duties b/c regrettably...comcast fails to cover a huge portion of what you will promise w., your best resource will be peer support btw fellow coworkers, you will learn more from an IT genious within your class then the instructor,it happen in every training class, and you will constantly be expected to revise, new comcast svc, trial rules, new tools. The fundamental "tool" & billing system was changed ending year abt 4 times, so much that it caused delay b/c some of it made no sense...sometimes you go subsidise to the same eyeshade twice bef you can get to where on earth you want to go, and you must use the tools b/c you are monitored, the tools monitor send for activity. Comcast enjoy people whose career it is to monitor employees...phone call metrics...in any telephone center you are monitored daily for: length of christen, sales, time spent past its sell-by date calls, your break times, to be precise what metrics are. You will be monitored on calls (the supervisor listen to your call) it varys mostly its weekly, on some teams its day after day. Customers will amaze you in their genious or stupidity...you may agree to the god of IT who will tell you how to do your commission, the idiot disconnected for nonpayment...but blames comcast b/c we have the chutzpah to bill them for svc they use from comcast, or the ever confounding...we lost power & have no internet & tv...yes you will revise how to tell general public that no electricity means zilch works, then be expected to exit the cll w/out making em perceive stupid, and attempt to make a Dutch auction. Those are a few examples. In a call cntr you must other be aware of what you say b/c you can be monitored, the ring can be recorded any time & a customer may also be demo it. Do not use slang, derogitory language, or argue spinal column. Your best resource is other employees (nonmanagement). Benefits are flawless, pay vary per area, you attain annual raises...low as 30 cents a year. Comcast pays the the national standard for customer service reps, surrounded by companies like ATT hourly rate is customarily several $'s more than what we make, but thats how they hook individuals, benefits plus hiring people w/ lower paying duty history, students, retirees, minority groups, alot of immigrants...you will see frequent people who this be 1st job...they dont pilfer calls as translators but when they translate they dont acquire reimbursed for it. Its not in the chore description to belingual...thats a seperate job itself, within a fair corportate environment...someone using a second vocalizations is supposed to get more hourly than an english single speaking person. Comcast.com is a appropriate place to start at, you will be given access to teamcomcast.com & https://webmail.comcast.com once you have a sign on. Jobvent.com is a fitting reference if you pay no attention to complainers it gives you a upright idea of some expectations.
Should you discuss Salary if asked in an interview?
Answers: If you are asked in the interview, give them a decent amount of what you would like. Obviously it should not be too high or too low. Something that you think is reasonable and you can work it out from there. If you are not asked about salary in an interview NEVER bring it up. Thats a good way to not get a job.

Can I capture fired even if?
I had get a written final warning for attendance,(my son be sick and i was out 3 days for him, have no other options). They were jerk even though I had a dr information from his dr. I was told a new occurance this year and I was terminated. Well logically I came down near the worse flu ever on Tues. I went to the dr and be diagnosed with influenza, i enjoy a dr note and am contagious can they fire me and hold up that word under these circomstances? If they do fire can i collect dismissal or go after them? No one wishes an employee near the flu in the bureau!!Answers: just progress to work and cough on their stuff revenge is good
They're not jerk - they are business people. I own the same problem near a salaried employee who be also told that if misses anymore time, she will start having her recompense docked.
You're right, nobody wants an hand with the flu at the organization getting everyone else sick and I'm sorry your son was sick and you have no other option but to stay near him, but you should have made a backup plan. You must hold already abused your allotted time off if you've already gotten an representative written warning.
Yes, they can abandon your employment for this and yes, they are within their rights.

I'd expect your employer to be at least a bit empathetic around your child being sick. Family and condition first, right? There is a flu going around, actually a really impossible uncomfortable one (I'm a short time ago finished coughing after 3 weeks!) and I went into work (extermely contagious) and have to leave impulsive, took off the subsequent day. It seem like they are contained by high emergency of your services as their employee, but it seem like their policies aren't empathetic in the order of family/health, when they truly should be.
I say, call for them and let them know exactly what the doctor said. Apologize. Speak to the organizer dude in charge and tolerate him know what position you are in beside the company and what position you are in immediately and that you would come in and wouldn't want to miss a daylight, but you truly can not come in because of you're bad health.
They must be so selfish to fire you over this. Do they enjoy family? Not adjectives of us have or can afford childcare outside of our own.
Let them know your situation and be completely honest and penetration about how they touch, too.
Where I work, our boss (VP) is very empathetic roughly speaking anything to do with our kids or form. For instance, when my friend passed, we were really really busy here and didn't know if I could even move off, when I approached my boss he said "I would be the last personality to say you shouldn't reimburse your last respects to an outmoded friend." or "if there is unpromising weather and the main street is doomed to failure and you seriously can't drive on a main street or highway, turn around and budge home... no risk is worth it".
I am blessed to work for a company that looks into how we "feel" and that we have "lives" out of work.
I don't ruminate you have to express this to your employer, but conspicuously let them know, you a short time ago can't come it, you do not feel in good health, and you can provide a doctor note or they can telephone your doctor if they would like, but consent to them know that you really want to come in especially do to the instructive you got prior, but that you really can't come surrounded by.
And, don't forget, talk to to big boss! They will be the most kindness.
What jerks! They expect to you show up to your opening?? They didnt want to be bothered w/ lame excuses that just simply ARE NOT THEIR PROBLEM?

The answer from the legitimate side is yes, they can fire you and no, you may not be able to gain unemployment.
The employer have the legal right to require attendance on the errand. This has be supported by the courts in adjectives states. It makes no difference if the member of staff has kids, have elderly to care for, or is sick themselves. Your employer is obviously not pleased beside you taking time off to fastidiousness for your child. I know to you that seems undue, but to the employer it is a matter of paying someone for not anyone there.
The issue of parents taking time bad for sick kids is a very hot topic right immediately. On one hand you hold parents who want to care for their children. You also own the non-parent employees who surface put upon by having to cover for the co-worker parents. Then you enjoy the employer who needs a lasting number of employees to operate and know that some parents abuse the time sour issue.
The fact that you enjoy a final warning vehicle that the employer is about to cancel you for attendance. I know it makes no sense for the employer to require a contagious personage to come to work, but legally they can require this and they can call off you for not showing up. If you really want to keep your commission you need to scramble to show your employer that you are serious. Call your supervisor or someone contained by HR and talk to them. Offer to filch these past sick days minus pay, contribute to make up the time, cadge if you need to.
As for job loss benefits, an employee cannot receive benefits for issues of misconduct. In your armour the employer warned you and the rule of attendance is considered by the courts as anyone one that employers can enforce. So, you probably will not find unemployment benefits.
The decree does not dictate sick time -- it's a gift from your employer. Your one and only protection is the FMLA, but that only works for serious medical conditions, not the 3 or 4 hours of daylight type.
Your employer is absolutely one legal -- doctor's proceedings have no endorsed meaning unless you are on FMLA or protected underneath the ADA (and the flu is not covered there).
Dr.s notes miserable nothing, the long and short of it , you be given a final notice which funds you had 3 other write ups you made your choices ahead of time on and paid for it, no UE if fired for rationale
