The boss is other "sick". Legally, can she be fired for not coming within?
I do not work for her anymore, but one of my friends does. It is a retail store with in the region of 8 regular employees and 3 shift manager. She is the General Manager of the store.Without fail, she call in every Saturday. On several channel shifts, she has spoilt to come to work. When she was call, she said she slept in and would be on her track. She did not come in, could not be reach, and her boyfriend had no belief where she be. Apparently, she had be at the doctor and forgot her cell phone.
She has be "sick" for about a year and a partially now, and the doctors cannot diagnose her next to anything. She has be given time off of work for "stress", pills, and every accomodation that you can ponder of to make her situation easier. Is it legal for her to be fired for not showing up when she is planned to?

this is a performance issue that the manager employer will deal near.
being sick near or without a doctors excuse is grounds for termination.
excessive absenteeism is grounds to call a halt, it does not matter why someone misses work if they do so on a regular argument and it effects the operation of the business they can be terminated. even those who are covered by ADA can be terminated if they can not perform the undeveloped duties of the job due to an malady or disability.
I have a same situation surrounded by my office.
One of my coworkers take a day sour every now and consequently, but others are not allowed to. Goes to do her livelihood 10, 15 minutes late, comes hindmost 10,15 minutes earlier and zilch is happening. Sometimes near is nothing we can do, freshly accept that some populace are, as we call it within my country, "saint cows".

So long as she is not the owner, I'm sure whoever is paying her would appreciate being told they are wasting their money, and would admiration you or whoever reports her as a valuable, trustworthy member of staff.
A good path to get someone within trouble is to make adjectives their appointments/meetings/order arrivals for the day they slack past its sell-by date or don't turn up at all. At least possible one of the people she stands up will shift to Head Office about her.
Well of coarse she can be fired justifiably. Proper steps need to br taken depending on the state you live contained by, however she looks like she broke every rule at hand is. Why the special treatment? Does the owner want to fire her? If not-there is nothing that can be done. If yes afterwards get on next to it. She should of been dis-missed a long time ago near type of behavior.
Not sure where you are from, and I couldn't find information for businesses that appoint less than 50 ethnic group (in Ontario).
Some people really are sick for plentiful years without individual diagnosed, but since neither you nor your friend is her supervisor, this is a matter for discussion between her and her doctor and, with the sole purpose if necessary, her supervisor or the owner of the business.
Why don't you start fruitless mouthing the boss o another depart men...and see who goes first.its none of your business.

I am in middle command at a health trouble agency... and have posted question regarding a merciful who's daughter knowingly leaves alone contained by her home. The patient is bed bound, and is powerless to use a phone or use a life alert..The daughter of this forgiving has be anything but nice to my staff and me. She is obviously not right contained by the head and suffers from what I can see border queue personality disorder. This daughter have verabally abused my staff and me. WHen I take it to the upper direction it is dismissed and I am told that we don't want to cause a rift next to the family as they can turn us into the state.
One of my nurses have been getting harassing phone call from this daughter. ( nurse called the home in need blocking her # and now the psycho have one of our staffs cell #;s) The calls to this nurse enjoy been getting worse contained by abuse and worse contained by #. The nurses husband ( an attorney) hit redial and called the daughter posterior and told her to stop hasrassing the nurse. .

The attorrney told the daughter if she doesn't stop official actio will be taken. The daughter essentially said "f- you".
This poor employee call me today in tears and told me the above details. I told her she is completely next to in her rights to wish legal guidance. I also told her that she may wish to hold her atty write a certified letter to the daughter take home it an official limitation about legally recognized action or in fact filing a restraining lay down. The cell # can not be changed as it is also connected to this nurses part time personal business.
I suggested that my nurse speak to my upper managment roughly speaking this and I have contained by the past and get no where. I told her to mention it's harassement and allowed action.
Today I bring back an email from my manager recitation all that this is the first she have been audible range of the abuse and harassement ect. ( not true)
Funny how the word approaching legal have made her change her story. Any suggestions?

unambiguously for your patient you call for to have a revision of guardianship. and for your nurse continue beside the legal act. you also should make a policy that no personal phones are used to contact patients. if a lenient needs to be contacted next it should be done through a work phone, either at the department or one supplied by your business, this needs to be policy. also i believe that lower than no circumstances should patients be familiar with staff's closing name. whilst patients are adjectives, so are nurses. i never tell a merciful my last moniker or where i live, and i live surrounded by a small town, i have removed it from my self, i only provide my first name. you own done what you can, it is in the hand of "upper management" now. support your nurse, hail as, make sure she is OK. follow up near the APS and ensure that it has be investigated.
What are the prospects for a computer science student in software industry having management skills?
Answers: even with all the outsourcing going on i would say they are quite good still (you are in the US i presume). If you are justing starting out with no or little experience a management position will be tough to land. if you are focusing on CS and minor or have significant business/finance related courses you stand a better chance.
