I live in California, and can't attain a gis or mapping brief anywhere. I have be looking for months and months...In my job search I see all kind of mid and senior level GIS job, all wanting several years of experience. Well where on earth are the entry-level jobs?? Who do I want to screw to get a map job within this state? What company is secretly hiring entry horizontal GIS technicians without hype it?
Private sector, local gov't, state gov't... nothing
Answers: What the heck is a GIS?
Do you own a master's degree that aggressively focuses on GIS map? That could be your ticket to getting a job contained by that field - employer really look for either experience or some type of advanced point in GIS. It's true that some positions are never flexibly advertised.
Here's a devout summary of what employers look for:

There are abundant GIS jobs available surrounded by California. Try looking at the GIS Clearinghouse website. Also try networking, or try contacting your local management offices to see if they are hiring.
What sort of trade should I enjoy? monetary...legally recognized.?
Ok, this is kinda just to throw out in that, but I am really having trouble figure out what do do with my enthusiasm. I will tell you a touch about myself/my job desires:I am female, progress to Syracuse University and am majoring in International Relations. Right very soon I am studying abroad (one year) surrounded by Paris, and I have spent some time surrounded by Argentina.
In my international relations degree I entail to specialize in a area, and the ones I am interested in immediately, are "International Political Economy" and "International Law & Organizations".
I want a white collar desk job, but preferably near periodic human interaction to renovate things up. I would like it to be internationally orient, but not something where I will own to move around every few years (I'd rather a short time ago base myself surrounded by one country).
I would also like it to foot fairly capably if possible.
Any creative or novel career accepted wisdom fitting these criteria would be greatly appreciated!
Answers: try human resources, banking or nouns they are good paying job and at a desk. (most of the time anyhow)
