I'm a Corrections Officer From New Mexico I think spoken and physical abuse have allot to with it. I get spit on just final night by an inmate in a minute if I would have kicked his teeth down his throat I would own been within here myself, but I did the professional thing and walk away. We ended up have 2 uses of force with him matching night. number 2 I reflect on is pay we do not grasp anywhere near what we should for the position we do. 3 I would say is administration they all give the impression of being to forget how it is dealing with inmates on the floors everyday putting our lives on the lives on the lines every time we step through the front doors.
I want to affix Thank You to all the Corrections Officers and Detention Officers for the job that we all do.

I actually be thinking about going to work at a local correctional facility a 152 bed. However I'm 5'4, 130 and 21. I am a waitress right in a minute and getting my degree contained by CJ and Psych. I like the aspect of other knowing what's going on in the nouns and like helping inhabitants. After reading these responses and knowing a woman who works there(who is older and larger). I do not tolerate my size hinder me, I'm a black belt contained by taekwondo and would love to take Israeli combat, however reading these things put everything in perspective for me. I really want to lend a hand people but not those. I would to some extent help victims or try to integer out why they did what they did. I am a research hound, and love to stay busy.
