I have a similar experience. Get a job (or internship) doing something different, but something you *might* be interested within. I joined an environmental consulting firm as an administrative staff appendage, and moved up to communications manager. Now I'm clear that I want to do unprocessed resource management and am going rear to get a Master's surrounded by that field.
So simply try out a bunch of places (even if you have to do admin work), and when you find some company that you approaching, work hard and move up. It'll furnish you insight and experience.
