I'm due to start my new job this week my old boss has slated me to my new boss and now she's pissed off. help
Answers: your old boss had no right to slate you to anybody and if you lose your new job due to whatever was said you should seek legal advice.. just go to your new job and keep your head down and prove to your new boss that you can do the job they are asking you to do. gud luck
who is pissed off and how do you know?
New boss or old boss
If old boss - so what you have left
If new boss - you have been offered a job because they think you can do it. Now you need to prove yourself. You may want to speak to new boss to clear the air regarding conversation but again... who has told you about it?
Slated, or did you mean slandered?
If you meant to say slander and it is actually slander, then you should have legal recourse.
Could you clarify?
Ignore the myth that you can't be given a bad reference - you can if it's justified.
Forget the legal action and just get on and prove yourself.
Is it OK to put an E-mail that reveals your age within a resumé?
example: vkarma88(a)whatever.comAnswers: I think it is pretty adjectives to find numbers in email address that people don't generally associate it with the person's age. I've used some numbers because I close to them, not because they're the year I was born or my age.
As such, step ahead and use numbers in your email.
My personal assessment is that, whenever possible, you should try to prevent revealing your age. Of course, there are law that prevent this type of discrimination but, recruiters are human and they might hold a certain being in mind for a position. If your email (or anything else that might indicate your age such as the years you attended college) implies that you are youthful, they might not really take your resume as seriously because they might already be influenced in the order of the age. On the contrary, if your resume reveals you are a bit more mature, they might not review it as okay either because they might want someone younger they can mold or income a smaller salary to. As miserable as it sounds, the truth is that as we age we naturally tend to own increasing health issues and this costs an employer money; whether it be from sick days, form insurance costs, etc. A company might even have a definite company culture where they prefer one age group over the other. The sincerity is that these things happen at companies everywhere. My suggestion would be to avoid any reference to age anywhere in your resume. In jargon of college education, you should freshly put the year you graduated and not the years you attended. Let your qualification and skills speak for you. When you are call for an interview, you can wow them with your culture, charm and charisma and age won't be as important once they certainly get a consistency for you. One more thing, the job you list within your resume should only shift back roughly 10-12 years. If you had a chore in 1982, I reason we can pretty much guess what age you are.
