Legal Secretarial/Paralegal Work from Home?

Why not take a pro-active approach (which firms usually resembling!) and contact some law firms, giving brief details of what you can tender, your rates, the facilities you enjoy which enable you to work professionally from home etc and see what happen? If you have a couple of influential referee from previous employments that always help.

The company I work for is being sold to another company (all the customers will verbs to the new company and the outdated one will no longer exist). They are giving me 3 months severance pay. If, after that time, I haven't found a situation, will I be eligible for unemployment? Will the certainty that the company no longer exists affect benefits?
