Am I responsible for duties not done by a squad appendage?

My boss stresses the team article and cross-training, but when my co-team member (the receptionist) get behind, I'm expected to support out, and generally I'm fine next to that as things do need to win done. However, when she's consistently 5-10 mins. late within the morning, I'm held responsible for making sure the switchboard is turned on simply because I start 30 mins. earlier.

This is lately one thing that drives me crazy most something like being on this troop, and picking up the slack from a lazy troop member who is baby just isn't right.

Answers: Since you are not the boss you are going to hold to put "turn on the switchboard first thing" on your morning to do list, and look at it as helping yourself obtain the job done. No business what team you are on in that are always some slackers, and those of us who do our job are driven crazy by them. Just be glad that this is not a huge thing and engender yourself get over it. You might be surprised how little it will bother you if you of late get it done and move about on, plus your boss will eventually find out that you are being responsible.
You might consider asking at your subsequent review if you can come in 45 minutes sooner each daylight instead of 30 since the turning on of the switchboard has become your responsibility, and you will grasp to go home 15 minutes earlier--ahead of the traffic!
