Career Change to Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industries?

I current work for a major automotive component supplier, but want a progress in my enthusiasm. I am considering a career transmutation to something in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries (preferably something contained by research and development).

Does anyone have suggestion on how to does so, since this would be a radical variation from what I am currenty doing? What are some career option? Where are the jobs out within (geographically speaking)? Would you recommend going back to university? I graduated beside a Chemical Engineering degree 10 years ago, but my current chore deals more near mechical/electrical engineering (so it does not help experience-wise).

Thanks for any guidance that you can give!

Answers: i answer phones for an adult-oriented catalog sale company 30-35 hrs/wk and started at $11 per hour plus commission (most start at $9.50, I got an extra 50c for experience and $1 for bilingual [Spanish] skills). The commission can be awfully good though, this 2-week paycheck I made an extra $7.50 per hour, though it's usually smaller number. I work evenings Mon-Thurs and every other weekend, so I only enjoy Friday off one weekend, but 3 days the subsequent. Most of the time I like my work, but sometimes it's difficult; the most important chunk about the customer service aspect is not to pilfer anything personally, to stay relaxed. That probably go for most jobs, if truth be told...
