Careers Employment Questions and Answers

I am looking to do some freelance paralegal work on the side. Anyone know how to procure started contained by this business?

I have a paralegal card and have be working as a legal assistant for a imperative firm for 2 years. I would like to brand some extra money on the side by doing freelance paralegal work (helping people take legal forms, documents, doing research, etc.).
I am only not sure of how much to charge or how to advertise my services. I would love an answer from someone who does this sort of item and can offer suggestions.

Thanks!

Answers: Have you contacted a legalized document service like "We The People" (they enjoy offices contained by California, not sure about other states)?

Also, a paralegal is supposed to work underneath the supervision of an attorney (at least within CA) so I'm not sure how you would be able to do this "on the side."

Lastly, you would probably hold to verify that your current employer has no issues beside this. He/she would probably want you to sign something that says that the attorney isn't responsible for anything you do on the side.
$200 Nicki S? That's a bit too much. Most notaries public don't even charge for their services.

Now not characterization to burst your bubble, but paralegals are not permitted to practice law. Which resources you cannot interpret forms for clients. This is why paralegals work for law firms, because you hold to be under the direct supervision of a practicing attorney.

A lot of attorneys would frown upon their clerks moonlighting and trying to earn extra outside what they get hold of paid working for a firm.

A court secretary and paralegal are two different operatives, because a legal secretary as a rule hasn't had the training to research defence law for trial. Nor do secretaries interview potential witnesses as a paralegal would.

I be an ARMY paralegal who did interviews for the JAG corp officer I was assigned to.
I would hope that you cultured a little something in the order of the "unauthorized practice of law" when you got your authorization.although certificate programs are such a prank I wouldn't be suprised...

Paralegals cannot work unless under direct supervision of an attorney. You should know that. Paralegals cannot interpret or overrun out forms for clients. You should know that. Paralegals cannot give permitted advice. You should know that.

Shame on you.

Is architecture a fun position?

like making floorplans and such?

Answers: Architecture is a fun opening if you like long hours, are creative, soak up drawing, searching, appointment people to negotiate beside, and/or working for absolutely nought at times. Are you secure near your work? Are you hard to sate? And another question you hold to ask yourself is, Is investing my life into my life's work worth dying for? As beside every construction job you must map out the biggest flaws first, later travel the roads you pick to get to the ruin point in your job. Architecture takes a minimum of seven years of professional study, an AIA experiment and liscencing, then paying due's. Anybody can draw a floor plan It is in fact getting it built is the hard factor. You are constantly the student never the master, but you get to crack the big lash.
part of my assignment is reading floor plans and i can tell you that reading them is extremely boring. however, if you approaching drawing them then by adjectives means shift for it!
