Are Labor Unions still needed?
I first asked this question one year ago and arranged to open it again. I work for a immense union contractor(boilermakers, pipefitters, laborers, millwrights, ironworkers, teamsters, etc.). These ancestors seem to have an idea that they deserve the world on a silver platter because they are union. Unions be first enacted to increase hellish working conditions, I would say that contained by the U.S.A. today conditions are no where close to where on earth they were contained by the late 1800's untimely 1900's and current laws and regulation and agencies will never allow it to return to those conditions.Answers: It is foolish to reflect that those who use people to fashion their profits would not over time change workforce laws to what they want and it is one and only the voice of the workers the unions which will stop them ~~
As long as individuals imagine themselves as victims, and hatred those who assume responsibility for their lives, and greed still remains a major player within the lives of some... labor unions will remain psychologically needed.
The labor association is the natural coat for the liberal-type person syndrome individual because it "fits" that person's needs. It assumes "responsibility" for the personage, it makes decision for the person, and the supervision is often dishonest... to be precise they make business "bad" and "responsible" for the greed the federation is driven by. Typical dissociation - projection process.
Support for the union also feed the delusional needs of those who discern guilty that they have money... short them having to truly separate themselves from their hated money.
Finally by threat unionists can force business to wage more and this is almost like one making progress within work without have to actually do something to earn the money they are extorting. Almost close to Jesse Jackson and his using threat of blacks to extort big bucks from corporations.
Yea, such treadmills of let's pretend are still needed.
Peace
no unions and we will adjectives be making 5 bucks an hour....

What is the job outlook on journalism & where would I work?
Answers: There is ALWAYS going to be a need for reporters, columnists, editors, et al. You will generally need a 4-year degree in Journalism and can work at small local newspapers in your town or any area you choose. I advise you to work on your school newspaper and develop a portfolio of well-written, well-researched, and strong articles with little of the fluffy stuff. Focus on exercising proper grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and syntax. This is crucial as well.
Journalism requires a strong knowledge of writing top notch leads, great ethics, and an eye for stories. It's not easy and is a low-paying, thankless career in the beginning. Work hard and you can make a good name for yourself.
Good luck!
Best way to get your foot in the door if you don;t have a lot of schooling, is work at your hometown newspaper. You'll probably start out as a low man on the totem pole, but if you show initiative, you'll advance into other areas as well. Be prepared to work in a position that might not be your desired area. Be friendly, open to change and challenge. Good luck to you
