Answers: There are many school in plentiful states where you can find trained to be a radiologic technologist (the proper term for a x-ray tech). You can attend a hospital base program (and earn a certificate), a 2 year college program (AS degree), and even a 4 year college program (BS degree). The hospital based programs are the tiniest expensive, and honestly, I think the rearing received there is superior. Once you graduate and lift your registry exam, no future employer is going to nurture what type of educational program you go through. All they care more or less is your license. Most RTs will also become proficient and licensed surrounded by other modalities, such as mammography, CT and/or MRI. This training does not require any additional formal training, and is usually literary on the job. The more license you have, the more money you can sort, as you will be in complex demand. With other schooling, you can also do ultrasound.

No unless you want to go to headship or teaching. Honestly, I a bit have someone run the radiology department who is a technologist near a bachelors or a masters degree or even beyond that than a nurse or a business individual with a masters level who has no exactness, correct knowledge or sympathy how the tech feel, or work esp a nurse. It is not needed to become a technologist surrounded by all three modalities but I importantly recommend more education for the better of the area. Look at this way, would you want someone outside your corral handling your dept who has no contemplation for the techs, the machines or the hard work you do and that dept director still doesn't comfort because he/she feels for the work she/he previously surrounded by before is better due to their ignorance esp he/she have no radiology experience at all. So catch your BA, masters or beyond that, it wouldn't hurt. If anything, it should be encouraged regardless you enjoy a hospital based program lessons or not. Remember this, whether you become one or not, you are a professional, act approaching one.
