You have a valid concern. It's awkward to be 'the only' anything. However, depending on where on earth you live, there's a lot of mannish nurses in correct part of the country. There is zilch wrong with self a male nurse. My father have been a RN/CCRN for almost 30 years. And contained by case anyone does find something wrong near men working as nurses, I would think that they own some serious gender barrier to work around.

As a nurse I can tell you that it is no longer a womans grazing land. Men are becoming nurses and are greatly respected and appreciated. Some male patients are relieved to know that they can request a masculine nurse.

Right now nearby is a big market for masculine RNs. It has its moral issues, mostly sexual, but; if you can procure past them the money is at hand for you. Of course, the doctors will make your go miserable if you work in a hospital or clinic. Patients don't close to nurses because tey constantly defer to the doctors' orders. They ring it protocol. Basically it means you can't overstep your authority for the creeps of losing your license or going to jail. Getting support to the sex thing, sponge baths are an issue if the tolerant is female. In most hospitals patients are segregate male from womanly, but; nurses are staffed aisle by aisle floor by floor regardless of sex. So, you may be required to ask numerous patients if they want you to bathe them or steal them to the bathroom or give them a suppository or an enema, or so on. This is because the hospital is irrelevant to discriminate in as far as what your sex is, presumed sexual nouns. Personally, I think by not discriminating they are sexually harrassing their patients. At any rate, whether you settle on to be a nurse or a doctor, you are going to find yourself at odds beside any one who values their privacy and sees medical professionals as peeping toms.
