Upon my return, NONE of my work had be done, AT ALL! Instead of everyone in my department pulling together (isn't that call TEAMWORK?!?) he road me like a bull! Told me I wasn't doing plenty in 40 hours but nonetheless in the 2 years I be there we built 3x the amount that we'd built when I started! I worked every single weekend for 3-1/2 months. I missed soon to take my dog to the vet, worked that weekend and the a*shole wrote me up for working that weekend and said I know better than to 1.) Go over my 40 hours & 2.) To try and make up my time missed since "I" wasn鈥檛 supposed to but however everyone else in the department be able to label up ANY missed time whenever/however they wished. But again, I'd worked every weekend for 3-1/2 months lacking him saying I couldn鈥檛. He be rude, he was repulsive; he would yell at me and embarrass me in front of my colleagues AND my superiors! I even have to quit college (which meant losing a full learned scholarship) just to stay afloat at work. She should be eligible for up to 12 weeks of unpaid sign out in any 12 month interval. I would contact an employment lawyer to see what option she has. I work as a rail-traffic controller for a large North American railroad. It's brand of like air-traffic control, except I'm routing trains instead of planes. It's pretty cool: I click on my mouse, and 200 miles away a freight train comes to a stop. Click again, it starts rolling again. Click another time, and it's diverted from this track to this one.
For the most part I close to it, but there is a large amount of stress. There's an extraordinary amount of constantly-evolving information that has to be manage. And even a small mistake can have tragic consequences. But surrounded by the end it's a great employment because it's never boring, often fun, and the rate is outstanding.

Sure, the pay is virtuous but, no, it is not a happy place to work. Ask anyone who works the afternoon or nightshift at a processing plant. Ask some fanlight clerk how it was when they worked within a process plant. It sucks big time.
