It depends on what you are doing it for.
A major con is that the majority of the culture don't like you, you run the risk of person shot at or killed on a on a daily basis basis and you will win lied to about something EVERY SINGLE DAY!
You will start to look at the world and everyone differently. Everyone become a liar to you. You start to believe that not a soul is telling the complete truth and that become your reality.
Now if you are joining to help out people. That can also become hazardous because you own to remember. We only take called after the sh*t have hit the fan and by the time we win there, it's usually too slowly.
So a lot of times, you won't be capable of save someone, singular be able to look for/catch the desperate guy. A lot of officers are depresed and become alcoholics because they permit the job affect them.
If you are surrounded by it just for the money (depending on what state you are in), later you might be ok, but then you aren't really going to be one of the "good" officer that do your job properly.
You enjoy to remember to be safe and remember that no concern what, YOU need to stir home at the end of the hours of darkness to your girlfriend and child when you have one.
