Question:I was terminated from my position i have for 3 years, recently our deposit come up short. I was placed on go, investigations took place, sherriff interviewed me, board of supervisors cross examined my statement. I proved to them I didn't take it. It be indeed misplaced. I would patently call a legal representative..If you know you didnt take the money and they be able to prove that it wasn't you, afterwards they cannot deny your unemployment claim base simply on that. I'd vote you have a pretty moral case but getting attorney can be expensive. Do you have another position in the works or are you really contained by need of the laying-off? You should make sure you win a statement from the police department saying you be cleared of the charges. I'm not sure what you can do to make them stop lying to the job loss office but possibly the police can help you. Good luck.
You own a lawsuit although gonna be tough winning. The statement by your boss be not public. You said yourself that you were inconsiderate with the money so if you didn't bring it, you contributed to its being lost. forget it and procure another job. Don't use this post as a reference.

It's not slander, but it is definately wrong. You boss can't verbs saying you took the money for your own use after you proved that you didn't and the police standard your innocence. You need to confront your boss or natter to the sheriff who interrogated you before because your boss shouldn't be doing that!

Most states are what is known as "work at will" states. this money you can leave when you are in place and your boss can fire you when he is ready. Neither of you call for a reason to end your job. Was his statement in writing? If so, it isn't slander, it is libel. This would be apposite news for you, as slander would be conspicuously hard to prove, while libel would be graceful.
