Every time I think that men are making headway, building a stronger show of equality, something approaching this is brought to my attention and I cringe. there's a lot of bleak history that supports this guy's theory, but even though history shows that guys enjoy been more successful, it's not because they're better, it's because they've dominated the bazaar for too long.
You can actually claim sexual nouns for what he's doing. If you can document what's been done, you can pin him pretty hard.

As a aspirant, I would never ask it.How they will react will depend on their corporate culture, policies and the individuals involved. Answering it would be outstandingly problematic (fodder for litigation, bad vibrations, etc.) and would not help anyone -- the employer have already made their decision.
OTOH, I am typically liable to answer something like, "What skills should I focus on to be more competitive surrounded by the future?" Or any of the abundant similar issues, "What did you really like almost my cover letter/interview/experience/et... Or even, "What do you think my weakness were as a applicant?"
And of course a standard conversation about what broad qualifications they are looking for seem fairly risk-free ground for the employer.
