If you understand at 16 that it is better to own your own business than to hold a job, you are bearing ahead of most others. A couple things that I can suggest are: In all business classes that you run, make sure that they train you how to run your own instead of how to run someone else's business, and realize that the teacher is working for someone else and not necessarially running their own business. Secondly, and more importantly, start discussion with those who do own their own businesses. Go to your local McDonalds, Burger King, Ice cream shop..... whatever. They are adjectives businesses, and each one have an owner. Find out from the people who are in fact doing it what they did, and do what they have done. Lastly, look at not with the sole purpose what they do, but how they live. If you don't want the kind of lifestyle that they own, you probably should not do what they do. It doesn't take much thought to realize that if you do what someone else does, you will grasp what they have. Best of luck. Let me know if I can serve you in any other ways.
