I finished my Commerce (Accounting) scope within Dec 2005 and I am struggling soo much to acquire work. Please Help!!

Question:I finished my Commerce degree next to a major contained by Accounting and minors in Finance and Commercial Law. While here are a lot of opportunity and jobs available everyday here surrounded by South Australia, no one seem to be giving me a chance to be employed near an accounting firm. My resume is the best that it can possibly be after spending 2 weeks with the career centre at my university. The individual thing I can't adapt are my grades which aren't all that great. There are some subjects which I a short time ago passed while failing 5 of them. I repeated the necessary ones though and get through them ok. But I don't understand how adjectives these people around me are finding work so glibly and I can't seem to seize through. I've been looking for work since January 2006 and out of the 40 or so job that I have applied for, I be only interviewed for 2-3 of those and I didn't even capture passed THAT stage. I don't know what to do anymore. It's becoming so stressful and depressing! :(

Answers:
I definitely surface your pain, and you own my very best wishes, not solitary for finding a job, but for finding the tolerance to wait out the interminable hunt.

I'm not a resident of South Australia, but I did a immediate search and discovered that the current jobless rate is somewhere in the vicinity 5%. Apparently that's somewhat of an improvement over previous period, but the only associates happy near a 5% unemployment rate are the those that don't have to look for a opportunity.

There are ways to improve your likelihood of being hired, but no guarantees. Here's some standard advice - do beside it what you will:

First of all, it's not clear to me that your spotty researcher record is keeping you from getting considered for job. It sounds like you're not even human being offered interviews for many of the positions you're applying for - and at that point, unless things work differently contained by South Australia, the person evaluating your resume isn't even aware of what your grades be like. I ponder the first thing you involve to worry going on for is figuring out why you're not getting your foot surrounded by the door.

When hiring officers receive a stack of applications, you enjoy to realize that most of them look very much alike. A rapid scan of all the resumes confirms that the candidate have the minimally required schooling for the position - and then the officer wants to winnow down a very similar stack.

One strong weapon within your arsenal is the cover letter. Put together a memorandum that highlights your strengths, using powerful words that make you nouns enthusiastic, dedicated, determined, a prompt learner, etc. One often overlooked step is to do some perspective research about the company that you're applying to - know what it is that this company does - and incorporate that ease into your correspondence. If the company does accounting for the medical industry, speak specifically of your interest (and knowledge?) in the order of medical billing - if the company does accounting for corporations, write about your interest surrounded by corporate ethics and securities regulation.

Keep the communication short and to the point. Tell your reader that you are highly motivated to succeed and that you're the sensitive of person who works extra hours until the work is done, a bit than a clock watcher. But clearly demonstrate that you've done your homework, and that you know something about the business - hiring manager LOVE that.

Once you've got your foot within the door for an interview, arrive early - dress better than the race you hope to be working with - look the interviewer contained by the eye, shake hands firmly - answer question thoughtfully, and be sure to thank the interviewer for his or her time - and write a follow-up thank you note directly to that entity.

Hang in near. I've been exactly where on earth you are - and I really understand how difficult and frustrating it can be. Best of luck to you!

My wife and I both work, but don't consider it a necessity any more than the ability to wage the mortgage, car reimbursement, gas, insurance, groceries, utilities, and whatever else is disappeared over for fun. I have so much to be thankful for that has positively nothing to do near money that I actually wonder how much happier I'd really be near all that much more. I'm not sure I would.

To adjectives Employers, how do you determine wages?

Question:Do you think if I wear a nuptial band, employer will offer me difficult wages based purely on the reality that I am married and have a kinfolk to feed? For a party (male), do you think it differs if I'm married or not when it comes to paying wages. White-collar, not blue-collar job.

Answers:
Depends on the position, but in broad, no. The wages are determined by market price. If a firm is getting the talent that it wishes, then the wages are satisfactory and realistically the employer is trying to pay you as little as possible but still plenty so that you don't jump ship to the competition.

Employers are irrelevant to ask about conjugal status and your spouse could be making a ton of money so it never really factors into the equation. The with the sole purpose slight upside about self married is that it is looked upon as being more stable so you're smaller number likely to move away to another place on a notion because there's another person surrounded by the equation. So, that might be a very massively small factor when picking candidates, but really, it's in the region of the personality fit, skill set, work experience, and coaching that determine who gets the opening and how much the pay is.

One of the field that are often overlooked are research and analyst positions surrounded by corporations. Depending on the nature of the business, these research positions can be a one-librarian type item or a full-on corporate library.
