Cut to member time at work, keep your bennies and expand your art empire until you know you can variety a living at it. You love it now, but if you have to make a living at it it might suck some of the bliss out of it for you.

As a recent art school grad I would enjoy to say DO IT! There is more to art than selling painting. Making a sustainable living like that will steal some time to develop & I don't think eBay is the best souk for that. Build yourself a following with your local gallery & art scene. And until then, supplement your income next to a "real job" within the art field. There are indeed "concrete jobs" you can get as an artist: illustrative designers, illustrators, jewelry makers, video & motion picture, storyboard artists, etc. I currently do freelance illustration and have a full-time charge as a designer at an advertising firm. Check near local newspapers, magazine, tv stations, design firms. So you CAN have a succesful occupation in the art enclosed space through in through in need having to find a "real job".
