Along with sources similar to craigslist.com you may want to check out core77.com It is a great web community for designers and have a place to post your portfolio. If you work at home you must be diligent and go after the work. A website will not guarantee you work, merely you can do that. Pound the pavement and look for opportunities. Setting up a web is the best suggestion I have. A lot of general public (not all) looking for work to be done on those bidding sites are looking for the cheapest work and could care smaller number about the part. You will end up making profoundly less and own even less to show for it surrounded by your portfolio.
