About average depending on which nouns of the country you're working in.

Some of these ancestors who are referring to minimum wage and labor laws really own no clue about the business of waiting table and really should not have answered to inaugurate with.
Sounds pretty low! I know it is different from state to state. When I waitressed I get paid $5.15. I live within MN.
Minimum Wage is $5.80. You should tell them to bestow you a fair price or you should report this to the Department of Labor.
geeeze, no style. how old are you?! look into your national law...
Yeah, I think that's pretty standard, but by the run out of the night, near tips, you need to be up to minimum wage. Sucks, but that's the bearing it is.
Actually, that's not too bad for a waitress. I work contained by a diner part time & I trademark $3.15 an hour (in NJ)...but on most nights, especially Friday night, after "busing" out I go home beside $150 - $200!
no this is definitely not the right starting wage but if you really want to be sure grant wage line a christen hope this helps you or pop in the web site below

Depending on where your from honey, and your age..... In USA you own many different rates depends on your state.......that array from about $1.80 some can dance as high as $6.80 or $7.00 usually the sophisticated rates are paid to those next to more experience though.....

In England im not entirley sure but cousin who lives in Bristol carry about 50 pounds a dark plus tips (she has be there for going on for 5 years and is 23)

In Australia the minimum wage is $8.65 that is the appropriate wage set for a personage aged 14 - 17 working at Mcdonalds or HJ's or somthing, if you live here (australia)and are not receiving that amount i suggest you contact Australian workplace relations, as here have lately been exotic policies set in place which protect ethnic group in your position, that propose an employer can not pay below a set wage. Let me know how you shift with this and where on earth your from as a teenager i myself be in a similair position near an employer that i had i will incorporate this to my watching list so i can check up on what culture are writing, i wish you adjectives the best as i know its a difficult path for those only starting to feel the course into the world and it isnt an easy road.

Depending on the place where on earth you are working. It is your salery and tips that have to join up to more than the minimum wage. There are some places where you in truth have to buy the waitress or waiter charge and pay them for you working nearby. This is because the tips can be very dignified. Some are as much as a thousand a night. Probably by in a minute it is more but when I was going on for thirty years younger as a technician I visited such places and get to know some of the people. They sure get more money than I did then.

why is it so rock-hard to break into the profession world after college?

Question:im an industrial designer, ive applied to over 25 places, everybody loves my work but hates my expierience.

Answers:
I'm not surrounded by the same pasture, but the opportunities are mostly abundant if you apply for the entry-level positions. They're looking for empire that they can mold into the thing they want, so they want folks fresh out of college. They look at GPA, school, and enthusiasm. Work experience from summer internships help because they know you're serious. If you're apply for jobs that require 5 years of experience, try applying to more supporting jobs. I'm sure you'll find something.

Other Answers:
THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM RIGHT THERE DUMBASS, BEING AN INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER
I'm have that same problem. I keep applying to adjectives these places, but since I don't have years of experience aft me they don't want to hire me. It's making me ill!
wreak you are partying and studying and you aren't use to the career world.
Hey, number one... swot to spell..

number two..
Go to a GOOD job placement and own them help you.. If you are as honest as you say, they will know how to get you a work..
Good Luck.

You answered your own question
I don't know. I'm have the same problem. I graduate in the top of my statute school class, worked numerous internships while surrounded by law academy (including working at my state's Supreme Court as a law clerk- a really prestigious internship), and I have sent out all right over 50 resumes. Everyone thinks that I am outstandingly qualified, but then doesn't want to hire me.

I am blaming my problem on my credentials mortal too good- lawyers own HUGE egos and they don't want to hire someone who is smarter than them. You can use my excuse too if you want:)
I deliberate you have to stay positive you'll find a brief in your corral. stay persistant and don't give up. The problem near employers is they commonly want someone who can hit the ground running and doesn't need alot of instruction.I ponder you should focus on the fact that you're a quick learner and give examples of assignment you may have be given and exceled throughout your life. stay Positive and supply yourself. Try to learn nearly the company before interviewing and drop some facts during your interview
i have the same problem, you call for to just purloin a job that relates to your work field explicitly entry level, it might not be what you want but it will wad the resume and prove that you can actually hold a errand.
You should work while in college, close to an internship or volunteer, something to build your resume. Otherwise, you start at the bottom when you get out. That's how it is. Maybe you are applying for job you are underqualified for, and should set your sights more appropriately. People work hard for top postions, most aren't hand those positions, even with an training. I graduated from culinary conservatory in 1997, and have worked for 10 years in kitchens by that point. I be a sous chef for 6 years, and just get my first executive chef position. I started my career almost 20 years ago, and I'm finally reaching my goal. Good luck to you
Jobs at any level are still subject to the original law of economics which is supply and emergency. If there is a big demand for industrial designers you stand a much better occasion of getting a job after college or systematic training. If there's a low to moderate demand and a dignified supply of industrial designers, you've got competition. If you've received great work reviews from potential employer it shows you've got the lessons and talent to do a great job. Eventually the right personality will notice and you'll find work. Good luck!
Because you don't hold experience. They look at you as book smart but you have not prove if you are fitting for it, which experience does. You should have worked within internship while you were surrounded by school so you don't hold this problem. While I was doing my undergrad and graduate level I was working a full time chore as well. So when I finished my undergrad surrounded by addition to my diploma I have thee years of experience behind me (I finished my undergrad surrounded by three years instead of four). I had no problem finding a opportunity at all. But if you spend your time partying and person dependable on your parents money and you did not find a job inwardly your study field very soon it will be hard to start anywhere. Your best bet is find a available job seeker company and enlist beside them. They have echoing resources for jobs. The service is free for you (they collect payment from the company that hires you). You would probably have to compromise net for getting the job but at this point you can't be picky. Get experience and them you would hold any grounds to negotiate higher recompense.
See college is not good for everyone. I lone have a large school diploma but lots of living experience and I get great jobs/careers surrounded by my area anyway.
it's tough....be there, i sympathize.

enjoy you been hitting occupation fairs at college campus??
even if you already graduate, you can still take lead of this oppptunity.
my roommate landed a great chore with Rubbermaid from our school's job fair. however, it be a very massive university (go Penn State!) so, we had huge fair.
many of the employer at these fairs grasp you have little experience and aren't worried. they will most credible be offering positions for entry-level experience.

have you considered an internship? propose to intern or apprentice somewhere. sometimes internships are paid and sometimes not. depends on how desperate you are. you can take a bartending job at night to support yourself while you gain experience.

keep submitting those resumes and don't administer up!
don't be afraid to accept a charge that isn't your "dream". at first you may need to do some "grunt" work to achieve experience under your belt, but i'm sure you know this.

purloin care and i will you luck!
Certain lines of work ... industrial design is among them ... maintain a illustrious barrier to entry primarily to weed out wannabes. It take more than just sheer talent to succeed surrounded by your chosen field. You want to package and position yourself by upgrading your resume, cover letter(s) and portfolio. If your initial 25 attempts be all cold call, then it's not a surprise they haven't call you back. You call for to keep at it. If you make available up, then I don`t know you didn't really want to be an industrial designer in the first place. (That's the outcome of a illustrious barrier to entry, friend. If you sway tough ... you really wanted it contained by the first place!) On a personal note, it took me five years to ground that coveted first job contained by my line of work. Now I'm exceptionally successful within it (14 years later). You need to hold on to trying.

I don't really know what you expect, but I will give you my give somebody a lift from the times I sat within the hiring seat and a word or two of guidance.

All too frequently a graduate applicant expects to start at a management even and pull down a partly million a year. Frankly they are not worth it. All your college degree tell me is you CAN learn. So consider entry stratum jobs. My Dad made a genuine impression on me when he said, "millions of associates are looking for positions, thousand are looking for jobs but not a soul is looking for work, because those who were looking for work own already found it". If you accept that you requirement the job more than the company requests you, you will probably interview better.

I remember interviewing for a middle management position. I settled to go the humble route and hope for the best. The interviewer asked a interrogate that required about a six part of a set answer. I told the man I didn't know the buzz words (a lie, I know all of them) he be looking for but I did know what he was conversation about. I after proceeded to define respectively step in the process in need using any of the buzz words. I apologized for not knowing the exact terminology and promised to memorize the exact words if it be important. He stopped the interviewing process and offered me the post. I doubt it would work every time but it helped me on that happening.

Last point, when interviewing don't be afraid to show some excitement about the assignment. I was once interviewed for a career in R&D near an electronics outfit. My background be very diverse but I believe my excitement over being competent to play with adjectives the new lofty tech toys was what hermetically sealed that job.

Really the concluding point. Have some tenacity, and don't get depressed. Everybody have had to run that gauntlet and, similar to the rest of us, you too will survive.

Good Luck

Most students of 18 do not have the called for capital to open investing or speculating the the stock market. Just to originate in a small approach requires about $1000 and preferably more. However, if you do hold that much at your disposal, then you might consider investing surrounded by a good mutual fund. Not adjectives mutual funds are good. At lowest 70% are not. But if you can find one of the other 30%, you will be rewarded.

If on the other hand you need to invest in companies directly, consequently you will need to unfurl a brokerage account beside a stock broker. There are many on vein brokers that will accomodate you but they do require a deposit to begin. It will be a study experience.

Yes you can start making money. But you will need to enjoy your PAN card for starting the account. You can use that for intra afternoon trade or derivatives like option
This was the answer to your cross-question. However my personal advice would be to stay away from speculation. In the long run you appendage up losing money rather than in the lead when you speculate. Instead try to get some upright education and grasp a good brief or start a business. When you get satisfactory capital surrounded by your hand, start investing within fundamentally strong comapnies and aggressive growth companies. Salary vs. Hourly?

Question:How much of an increase should I ask for if I go from hourly to income position. I'm told the average work week will be only 40 hours, but you never know, so is within a common percentage I should attach when changing positions?

Answers:
I totally agree near the first three answers...

Other Answers:
Are you worth more to the company? What do people within similar positions earn? Are your benefits increasing?

Try salary.com and see what's anyone paid for what.
If you are told the average work week is 40 hours, afterwards expect about 1/2 over that, and count it as average. Then integer out what you would have made working those hours at the hourly rate(don't forget time and a partially for the hours over 40.) You should ask for at least that much, no sense contained by taking a job, to work more hours if you are going to brand less per hour on a average.
The common guideline is probably this.Take the current hourly rate and multiply with the hours worked contained by a month. After you establish this, add some percentage to the amount since the total net should be greater than the total hourly.
I have not specified the rate since it will depend on some factor some of which are:
-is the movement a promotion?
-is the type of work the same?
-what is the company policy?
-how much are you of a mind to accept for you to revise,or is the remuneration not a factor in the shifting?

Hope I have be of help.

Should a stay at home parent/ spouse be entitled to consider the employed spouses income as partially theirs?

Question:If there is a divorce, the money is split so why wouldn't it be split while married? When applying for loans etc., it should be ok for the stay at home parent to say-so they make partly of whatever the employed spouse make and vice versa. Technically the stay at home parent is doing a job and is anyone paid surrounded by essence because otherwise there would be daycare expenses and everything specifically done around the house would surely have some effectiveness.

GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS.

Answers:
I agree with you on the position that staying home parent and taking contemplation of the kids is a full time job. But fatefully since you are not earning income you are not considered working by the law. Why loan companies do not accept you simply based on your income? Because you don't hold any. This is how they are looking at it- if they give you the money and you don't repay them (either loan for a mortgage or car or personal loan) how can they procure money back from you? From where on earth? If you earn money they can get a garnishment of your income. And maintain in mind that they are not contained by the business of repo-ing cars or taking away your house. Don't gain me wrong-they'll do it if they have no other choice but they would prefer to hold another outlet of collecting their money.

Other Answers:
yeah i think it should be.

I own none. My thoughts is to stay away from gold digging harlets similar to you. man slaves all sunshine for you and you want to score partially his pay too while you examine oprah and Montel. get a situation lazy a$$.

When you be in motion apply for a loan, they ask what the total household income is. If they ask what the income from your job, you own to put down -0-. Otherwise, they won't be able to verify it.

Yeah, I would read aloud so. Taking care of kids and the house is a errand most men couldn't handle.

Yes, because the "modern" style of living is the man goes out and works to support his family unit. The woman stays home and takes watchfulness of the kids and cleans the house. If the woman decides to progress out and work, then tht is her choice. So, what the man brings surrounded by is the fmily's money.

Here's what my wife and I do:
We own a general pool of money and a budget. If anything costs more than $25, we yak about it formerly we buy it. But each month we respectively get $100 to spend however we want, no question asked. That way respectively of us can get things we want in need it causing arguments. I use it for golfing and my wife loves getting watches and stuff. Being surrounded by that situation right now as a stay at home wife and mother, I can't see a benefit to demanding that hubby foot over half the paycheck, because I try not to variety the focus of our relationship his income. I don't want him to think that money is adjectives I think that he is out in attendance working for, I know the difference between working for greed and working for the ones that you love to make sure that they are provided for, significance that I know that he is working hard for money that he isn't going to see much of after the bills are compensated and the groceries are bought and the car is taken safekeeping of. On one income, there isn't much not here. It is the sacrifice that we made together when we decided that since we have children, we were going to bump up them and not hand them rotten to someone else to raise. If someone wishes something like clothes or shampoo or anything, we buy it on an as needed basis, in that is no buying something just because you want it. You do own value to your work, and I am sure that your hubby would agree, I am sure that he enjoy comming home to have his laundry done, the house cleaned and supper waiting, but recitation him that you're doing this for some money and not because you love and care something like the well person of the family is not going to sit in good health. if you are looking for recognition for your position well done, detail him that you need to hear it. We adjectives need a soaring five sometimes, and stay at home mothers need it even more, I suggest because we don't have preformance reviews and sometimes we gain taken for granted. Just tell hubby that you call for his hig five once in awhile, I am sure that he will know.

good luck and God bless. This is so trivial I cannot believe it. Too abundant people expect money for every shot. When a relationship is in effect, in attendance is no split. It is a joined force as one. You should own self gratification on what you do to pitch in to put together it work and not be so concerned about money. If adjectives ends are being met, why brand waves. This is person a successful family. Pathetic thoughts approaching these is why the divorce rate is so high. Either be delighted with what you own or be part of the rising statistic.
