it really depends on the school. I work at a pilot academy and I can tell you that the entire process at our college (all Licenses and certificates from Private Pilot to Instrument ratings, CFI's, Commercial Pilot ratings ect) will run you more or less $35,000. That is the cost of using flight simulators, aircraft rentals, flight instruction, FAA tests, and ground & flight training. You still hold to pay for tuition however, to be covered by insurance (can't fly short it). Around $1500 (resident tuition) to $4700 (non-resident) per semester if you go full-time.
