Yes. Sometimes here are certain skills that you enjoy to learn on your own because they can not be skilled. If the other employees chuckle at you, it might be because they already made the same mistakes that you are making right immediately.
I have be there. I be left to operate a computerized till by myself, you can predict the mistakes I made! I decided after a few hours, that it be just too degrading. Any company that would take off you like that have no morals or values, and the company is headed for disaster. I guarantee it! The other workers treating you as though you are stupid also should tell you something more or less the company. They are just little minds working contained by their own little petty environment. How can this company ever be successful operating the way they do? I would verbs immediately. I not simply believe in, but I edify teamwork, support and creating a sight of success where on earth everyone wins...explicitly how a company needs to operate if they plan to stay surrounded by business. Ethics go a long path!


49 yrs hoary,work exp,mostly acting,some minicab driving,what comp,progrms/skills should I beef up to attain temp work?

Question:My typing is ok,comp skills so-so just bought bureau word 2003,aplied to temp agency on a lark 3 weeks ago got high-speed responce they gave me some carrying out tests placed me right away,seasonal job closing moments soon,cust serv rep,mainly phone/computer directions returns etc.In Seattle ,family stuff,till March or so,put a bet on to L.A. want to segueway this into something I can do to pay rent when acting gigs are scarce.Quick study,pretty sure I can bring back the skills I need merely not sure where to focus.Working on typing and bureau word as a foundation.
First time I have EVER worked within an office.An adjustment..............
Dream scenario of this is obtain to the point where I can work out of home trade name own schedule,not miss auditions etc etc .

The tired answer is to revise web programming skills, but those guys are commonly a dime a dozen.

Look into learning C# for window. There is a free version I believe that you can download for research. Learn how to do stuff with a database. Again, I presume there's a free version of SQL Server, or you can other use the free MySQL database. Spend a lot of time really getting to undertand doubt oriented programming technique (do this by making up some projects - games, DVD collection software, etc). Once you have a correct feel for it, cattle farm yourself out dirt cheap - up to $20/hour - you may be able to find work as an "intern" for around $10 - $15/hour. If you can live on that for around a year you're home free. After a year of living approaching crap you should be good for a $50k/year duty or less doing stuff you can work on at home. After another year of that you should be capable of do just roughly whatever you want.

You don't HAVE to do C#, but right immediately it's the easiest skill to get into places. Java shops are going to be snootier and more difficult to seize into for someone with no experience. Lots more places are liable to give you a shot if you're ready to work for next to nought (in programmer terms) and you know c#.

It's not easy, but it's not too strong either to seize into programming and make a clad living. If you have analytical skills and you relish solving problems, and, most importantly you aren't afraid to take risks, you can do it, no problem.

Since you are current to this I would avoid a programming approach, like C++ and stick to a adjectives application that is easier to cram than it looks and which there is other a call for surrounded by L.A. Especially if you can afford a little training.

The things that stand out to me are any genus of video graphics software - I would stick with the Mac platform here since explicitly largely in use surrounded by the video industry. Also in emergency are skills in photoshop for photo layouts things approaching that.

Another very lucrative nouns is in map. Anyone can get access to a map in a minute due to G00GLE, but only a few hold the software or know how to manipulate background with a Mapping software roll.

ESRI is the big player here and ArcView used to be the big package but it have been supplanted by a newer bigger packet, check their website.

A weeks training by them would do you a lot of honourable at getting work. Huge demand. The singular problem may be how much is really temp work.

However the money is really, really good.

Otherwise, the full office suite is worth knowing, contained by order Word, Power Point, the Excel (its harder to cram than Excel) then Access (which requires at most minuscule one or more classes).

Those are my thoughts anyway.
