Hi Lara Croft,I must articulate that you need to do in good health in Economics, because lacking proper grip on the subject, you can't come up with flying colours and gain admission by the employers. Many population are accountants. If you want to stand apart from them, you must posses something which makes you different...which make you an asset. And let that be your scholarship. But I have to right to be heard that good communication skills are also mandatory.
But, I don't think Statistics is that defining here, although a minimum knowledge is rather necessary. You stipulation to have a common idea on adjectives the topics, but excel in any one topic. That will do to make you identified.

I really just enjoy no idea what to step into now that guideline is off for another year or so, and I don't want to save working here at my University (I hate this town). So what should I do?
