I hold an interview tomorrow for a Secretary position at a conservatory.?

Question:
Anyone know what questions they will ask? What question do I ask? Do I dress professional?

Answer:
I would dress nice but not formal or anything..Nice slacks and dress shirt should be fine..Comfortable shoes..Relax and be yourself and act resembling your excited about this wonderful opportunity and only go for it..Having have some experience can't hurt either..ss

Good Luck!..
dress exceptionally professional.

questions might be how u do business with kids contained by situations.
Definitely dress professional. I would not recommend wearing slacks unless it's part of a suit (and markedly keep skirts at a modest length). I'm not sure what question they would ask...but some generic type questions you could ask are what exactly are the duty duties, why is the position currently vacant, that sort of point.
Always dress professional when going to a job interview - the interviewer will put together up his/her mind about you and the possibility of hiring you inwardly the first three seconds of you walking into his/her department.

As for the questions, the solitary difference may be that they will inquire as to your experience with dealing beside children and parents - something that business secretaries don't usually do.

As for you asking questions, you can ask to take a general overview of the duties that you would be asked to make. Depending on the school, the even it covers, the duties of a secretary can vary widely (from calling parents because their child skipped class to have to perform first aid on a scrap knee).

Good luck.
Yes, Dress proffetional. First impression is the foremost focus. Wear something proffessional. Not revealing.
They will ask if you have clerical experience, i.e. faxing, copying, using software programs, shredding...ect.
They will ask your typing speed, if needed or applies.
They will ask how you work next to others, and how you work with students.
Are you dependable.
If you are computer literate

Basic stuff. Secretarial positions are massively broad and cover many tasks. If you don't own any experience in something they ask. Say no, but I swot quickly and would love to know how to do that. Look hoping. =)
The best of luck to you! =)
They are going to ask 2 main question, and you should rehease them. First, they will say, "Tell me something like yourself". Make it sound close to you are the best thing since sliced bread. Next they will enunciate, "Why do you want to work here". Make something up. Another question that other comes up is "Tell me one of your bad traits". Your answer have to start out as a bad trait that you want to work on. Such as you'd close to to do so many projects, but in attendance just is not satisfactory time in the daytime. good luck!

If you fib on your resume, you run the risk of getting caught in overnight case your boss opts to check up on you. Especially if you not tell the truth about human being qualified for something you aren't, they will find out eventually when you get hired and can't execute your duties.

You'll probably get fired contained by the long run, unless you are really lucky. Resumes are supposed to sum up your intentions, experience, education and strengths so that they can see if you are fitted okay for the position. If you lie, you're setting yourself up to fall short.

Don't lie, and look for a commission that you are qualified for.
The resume is for getting the interview; the interview is for fleshing out what's on the resume. If you lie and gain caught, you're not getting that job.

I would resembling to know is ok to put your manager's cell phone and nickname on your resume as insinuation.?

Question:

Answer:
You should always ask anyone if you can use them as a insinuation before you do sowhether personal or professional reference.
yesas long as you keep him informed of matching.
It's always better to purely say, reference available on request. One, it looks better, and two, employers wouldn't want to see their own number near for privacy reasons, but they wouldn't mind if it be on a reference enumerate available to someone if they were going to provide you a job.
you should ALWAYS ask a human being BEFORE you put ANY of their information on your resume. you should ask your manager if you can use them as a citation on your resume and if they prefer you use their phone # or an email address .. most perspective employers will want a phone # .. most convenient..
Good Luck!
Always ask authorization first, but then it is okay. It is better to not schedule references and basically add that they are available upon request. Have them equipped if you go within for an interview.

The ONLY exception might be if you want to "name drop," but I still deem it's best to simply say "available upon request."
Most citizens have reference on a separate page, but as long as you let them know they are tabled as a reference, it's o.k.
Ask your supervisor if he/she minds being a ref for you. Then If they say aloud yes, go for it.
I wouldn't incorporate that information to your resume. It would appear professional. Most jobs require an application as in good health as a resume -- and the application would be a more suitable place to add the name of previous employers and contact information.

Also, on your resume, you don't enjoy to include the phrase "references available upon request," as most prospective employer assume that you will provide that information if requested. Besides, if you are specific in your mission history (to include place, date and location of employment), your potential employer can contact them on their own.

Oh, and one more entry -- a past employer to be exact listed on your resume is balanced game as a professional insinuation. You don't have to ask if it's okay...simply the fact that you worked at hand makes it okay. A potential employer will usually ring up all long-gone employers to verify your work history. It's only part of the activity. However, you do want to notify anyone you use as a PERSONAL reference. Make sure you bring back their okay before giving out personal information.

Good luck!
No problem if you're using his/her business phone number. Definitely if you're putting contained by his/her home phone number.
You should inform your manager if you're looking for a bright job no business what.
On todays resume, we don't put refrences on the resume. At the bottom of the resume, puy "References Available On Request". Then have a seperate page for reference with that type of information on it. This shoul include their autograph, address and phone number, and what type of reference it is (Business, Personal) ect. Have 3 of them. A express little quote as to why they are refering you (Their words, not yours). If you are sending a Cover Letter with your resume, you can include your boss's info. That looks accurate, if your current boss is a good citation to your next assignment!
Remember, any reference quote you may use, hold them pick one or two specific reasons why you are great, surrounded by very PROFESSIONAL expressions, not just that you are an awsome personage.
Best of luck to you on your job query!

I am told that man in construction is where on earth I will now be stuck.

nope
You can do anything that you set your mind to do. Read 'Yes I Can' by Ken Brown
I disagree, I'm not a buyer. I do work in the Merchandising Dept as a Analysis and work closely beside the Buyers. A Buyer is a Buyer no matter what Industry. Your education is valuable when it comes to dealing next to Vendors. It does not matter if you are buying Lumber or any other product.
Dont reflect on you are stuck, buying is just buying,as long as you know how it sell dont matter what the product is, research into the product is the primary thing, you could put your construction acquaintance to anything just entail to know what sells.

Question for bosses...?

Question:
We added another department. We've hired 4 people for that department and 5 associates for another department in the later 3 months. My work load have doubled, yet there's be no one hired to give a hand me in the organization, nor has nearby been any added compensation for me.
How should I fiddle with this / what should I say?
If I turn within a resignation and he tells me he'll make available me x number of dollars to stay well I disgust that because I just want to articulate "if I'm worth that, why am I not already making that".
I really need input as to what I should do. I hold 20+ years in accounting. Thanks

Answer:
Companies are profit driven. They will not simply contribute you more money without discussion.
Make a enumerate of all of the tasks you're presently performing. Break it up into 2 categories. What you be doing and what is newly added. Get a copy of the post description for your position from HR and see if you are indeed doing more than what you originally signed up for. If you honestly feel that you are getting taken ascendancy of then you entail to talk to your superior. Make and appointment with her/him, be prepared near your lists and present your armour. Do NOT go contained by and say Sally make this and Steve makes that. It's not almost them, it's about you. And if they do form more it might be because they spoke up. In which case dutiful for them.
So. Get the facts. Get prepared. Plead your case. You may surprise yourself. And if they don't budge and can't explain why next start quietly looking and be prepared to start out and not accept any counter offer. They may try to call your bluff.
300 populace work for me currently and if they come to me I listen and then answer honestly.
Either you are too slow and incompetent or don't own the guts to ask your boss to prioritize your tasks.
The other departments hiring has nil to do with yours.
Speak up. Try to not spawn it sound close to complaining. Be organized with your thoughts & reckon of a few examples ahead of time to explain to your boss about how the extra workload is not worthy for the department, the quality of your work and how you own suffered as a consequence. Try to schedule some time next to him/her ahead of time so it is more like a formal slot. Try to think of a solution similar to hiring more people or temps to relieve out.

Don't quit your job until you enjoy another one. You'll probably regret it later. Try to diary a vacation week soon so that they will appreciate what you do more by seeing what happen when you are gone.

How do you carry workers comp?

Question:
and how does it work? Any info on this would be helpful

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Answer:
You draw from the coverage by being employed - almost every employer is required to cover its team under worker's compensation insurance. You receive the benefit when you kind a claim because of an injury sustained in the workplace or an sickness caused by something you be exposed to at work (like asbestos or coal dust.)

For a work-related injury or illness, you are usually sent to a company-paid provider or clinic. Your condition will be evaluated and the doctor will recommend a course of treatment. Depending on your company polcies, you may also be required to bring a drug test at this time. WC insurance covers the cost of the treatment and provides some coverage for lost wages if you must be sour of work for a period of time.

Warning - if you are thinking roughly speaking faking a claim to collect benefits, it ain't as unproblematic as it used to be. Many companies are onto that game in a minute. I've prosecuted WC claimants for fraud and won...witness statements, video footage, and private investigators are used by companies who don't want to pay money so a without a flaw healthy hand can watch the soaps instead of working.
You carry injured on the job such that you are unqualified to perform the tasks required for your brief. Your employer verifies that this be an on-the-job injury. You or your employer contacts the state and files the appropriate paperwork. You prove to the state that this was indeed a job-related injury and that you can no longer act that job as you did in the past. Depending on the type of injury and the extent of permanent pull, you collect a check from the state. Do not even think give or take a few faking an injury contained by order to collect workers comp as states close to to hold onto their money and will go to great length to find proof that you are trying to scam them.
