I did seriously of voluntary work for my old primary institution. A couple of the teachers I have back afterwards were still nearby, so it was even more of an experience than I have expected.
I contacted the headmistress, who I didn't know, and explained what I was looking for. They put me through a police check, and I give them references. And I be on a 3 month trial period, intensely much like a chore.
I think it would help out a lot if you chose a institution where you have some connections. For example, you knew some of the parents, teacher, or had some nouns with the institution in some path. Just so that they know you via some other situation. It would make them surface more comfortable, I think, as apposed to a complete stranger.
