Surely your college has a Careers Advisor? Most do. Often the amount is not about the subject but your proficiency to study, absorb information and write a coherent, fluent, balanced, well-considered report. If you use your music qualification as support for your out-of-work events in your cv (resume) (playing within a band, providing entertainment for social gathering etc), that will convince prospective employers of your well-rounded character. Get a part-time situation doing something practical to prove that you can do both.
