Is it weird and wonderful for someone next to a B.S. within Computer Engineering to want to apply for a system administrator profession?

Question:
Or does this happen repeatedly?

Answer:
I'm assuming that the Sys. Ad. job may be a superior level position surrounded by your company. If so, I say "walk for it". The worst that can happen is that the company say "no". But if this is an internal position, it shows you are interested in moving surrounded by that direction and want that responsibility. Just be sure to talk to your bosses beforehand just about this.

If this is an external position, again apply. Again, the worst they can say is "no". In any situation, be prepared - know exactly what the job will involve and how your current skill set is adequate to cover the job responsibilities. The better you can answer their question, the more likely you'll carry the job or at least possible be considered in the adjectives. Plus, interviewing will give you auxiliary practice for the next Sys. Admin. brief.

Good luck!
No way, be in motion for it! Your qualified and desire the position so its your for the taking. Good luck!
Doesn't sound eccentric to me.

I own never feel so stressed?

Question:
I am 20 years old, full time college student...I own 5 years in retail and sale experience... I used to work for a bridal shop for many years, after at another clothing store as a store manager, and later I was offered a position at Bath and body works, and in a minute they want to make me a organizer here...which i am completely happy aboutright? capably, there is a upright chance the lone store that needs a superintendent, is a store thats many cities away, which patently, i wont want to do, nor CAN i do...the sad item is, that if his managers position doesnt work out, afterwards ill hold to go final to a sales associate, which give me about 3 hours A WEEK. no, really. lately i enjoy been surrounded by tears, over the amount of stress ive been below, and so many impossible things always give the impression of being to happen adjectives at once. i might be facing the possibility of not having a brief, and i have tried everything.where on earth else can i work! i dont have the time rite in a minute to work a $7/hr job. i hold experience, i am a hard worker, and i hold BILLS

Answer:
Here is the crux of the problem: your current job see you as an asset to be used as they see fit, where they see fit. Your own priority is, or conceivably should be, your full time college career. The two are not compatible. Well, specifically not a problem. Finishing your degree is worth opening more than whatever difference you'll engineer as a retail store manager for an extra two years. I influence extra two years because you can always be in motion back to hip bath and body works after you finish college if you like it that very well.

My suggestion is this: Start looking fast and firm for another job. Create a fully clad resume and emphasize that you are a college student. Apply anywhere you can conjecture of that would need someone reliable and graceful to train for similar jobs. Decide what your minimum agreeable wage needs to be, and stick near it, assuming it's realistic. If you be making a certain amount at B&BW, next, it should not be a problem to get that amount somewhere else. B&BW is another nifty retailer, simply like roughly a zillion other places, and the turnover in those job is high, which finances...lots of opportunities elsewhere.
You may not find something overnight, but if you spend adjectives of your extra time during the week getting ready, identify possibilities, dressing up your resume, and having a few population check it over for spelling and grammer (everyone makes a mistake somewhere), later hit it hard starting untimely on saturday and even sunday, you may have a modern job paying what you inevitability inside of 2 weeks. Don't get discouraged after 10 tries. It may appropriate 11. Don't get discouraged after 20 tries, because it may hold 21. Just remember it's a numbers game and travel after it.

Remember, you are a full time college student. The job you own now is merely temporary employment with respect to that. Any assignment you find right now is a short time ago a means to an train. Once you finish school, your earn potential will go up tremendously. Alot of young at heart people drop out of institution because of this or that 'great opportunity' to be the store manager, or the dock foreman, or anything. The reality is, they slap nice titles on these job to entice you, but where will you dance after that? Unless you are fairly inimitable like Michael Dell, or started at Wal-mart or Home Depot during their growth phase and get alot of stock options, the genuineness is, store manager of a BBW is not a livelihood for someone who has completed their 4 year level. Stick with accounts at all costs, and within a couple of years or so, you'll go means of access past that store officer job, and verbs to climb and earn.
I realize that finishing school may be a big purpose, but it does not put food in your mouth or warmness your apartment right now.
Therefore, your instant goal, since BBW doesn't give the impression of being to be compatible with your long permanent status goals, is to find a opportunity that does. You don't mention waiting tables. It's sturdy work but if you work at the right restaurants, you'll make more than you would managing that store. Find someplace near alot of other college students working there. It probably finances they are 'student friendly'. Find someplace where the entrees run $10 plus, and cause sure they serve liquor. Even if you can't serve until you turn 21, they will help you out on those instructions, and your tabs surrounded by general will be much sophisticated. Think about it: table for 4, drinks, dinner, perchance desert, will run 80 to 100+ dolllars for their dinner tab. Some people don't tip but most do and some do in good health. A tip on an $80 table is 12 bucks. If you are dealing with 3 table at a time on the average, you would make $36 an hour.. Maybe it would solitary be 20 some places, or 15 on some nights. The point is, you can spawn enough to earnings for school and bills by waiting table if you go to the right places. You are NOT going to settle for school by waiting on individuals at Golden Corral or Ryan's steak houses. You would probably do very okay at Outback or someplace similar.
Its true that you won't be that busy all the time, but later again, if you need to study and be contained by school during the morning, why would you want to work anything but the busy evenings anyway? The restaurants don't want staff hanging around making minimum wage beside no tables to linger on either so they'll try to agenda you evenings and when you are available.
I hope you see a solution in here. It's here to be see. If you feel that waiting table is too hard or that the commissioner job of late holds so much potential (which it doesn't), then jump for it, and there's not much I can say to support you. I hope for your sake that you have hope, stay contained by school, and simply whip a firm grip on the situation and push through to a solution. Tens of thousands of students have similar problems respectively year, and gut it out no matter how strong it gets. That's what it take, and you can do it too, but you have to establish that it's your very ultimate priority.

Another comment: you need to attack your situation from both sides. I talk alot about finding a career that would work for your situation. The other thing you requirement to do, is look at all your bills, and start figure out how to minimize them. Are you splitting a place with 2 or 3 or so other culture? If not, and it's feasible, that's the first item you need to do. It will cut your electricity, rent, hose, trash, sewer, and maybe phone by partially or more. Do you have a coupé payment? Sell it and grasp a reliable beater. You can get something that will work 99% of the time for $1500. Do you own a cell phone? You probably need one but carry the cheapest plan you can find. Not enough minutes? Don't cooperate so much. Got cable? Drop it.
At the risk of losing your interest if you've gotten this far, I'll stop with the points because I'm sure you receive the idea. The bottom row is, you have to cause the sacrifices called for to get the point. If you don't, you'll simply end up as the 40 yr matured store manager at the precinct working holidays and saying 'yessir' and 'yesma'am' and trying to hold on to the clerks honest all year and making 25k or whatever for the rest of your energy. Alot of people choose this walkway. It's honest work and I respect that it's as high as some will travel. But, if you want more than that, then, you call for to dig surrounded by, don't fret about anything they put in the picture you at BBW, go find a undertaking that will accommodate your long term plans, and kiss BBW goodbye. If they argue or catch verbally pushy or manipulative, consider the source. Listen to those that support your goal. The world is full of people that won't, citizens serving their own interests, and people that will use you contained by a heartbeat for their own shallow gains. You hold to be strong, keep your big goal in the front of your mind, and not be distracted by situations such as this one. Good luck. - Kevin
sweetie, cant u basically turn down the mgr job? and consequently find another retail job w/ more hrs but better discharge?

w/ your retail experience i'm sure u could get a better paying opportunity, what about a dept store or makeup store? (or makeup at a dept store)

Forget it, the manager position sounds resembling a McJob: a dead pause.

Is this nouns?

Question:
At my current job the company wishes people to start working Saturdays. As you can see in your mind`s eye, none of us are thrilled about the model of having to work Saturdays. There are four other personnel that do my same job. Most of them hold kids. That stated, I feel I am man pressed to pick up the Saturday shifts. No, I don't have the obligation that come along with have children but I don't feel this should be a factor and perceive somewhat discriminated against. If I have seniority, shouldn't that lift precedence? I would like some opinion.

Answer:
Unless the children were issued to the parents by the company, that should not be a consideration. Just because you're not married it doesn't denote you don't have a existence.

Mind you, I have be married for nearly 12 years and have raise 3 children. I've never let motherliness get contained by the way of my work and I've never used my kinfolk as an excuse to get out of work. They are WHO I work for--not an excuse to take out of it.

I know this kind of piece happens every year. If your company is giving preferential treatment based on connubial or parental status it is wrong. Is it "descrimination?" I don't know. That's such a "buzz word" that I'm afraid to use it in this context.

The best suggestion would be to hold a "friendly" conversation with your supervisor and ask if this responsibility could be shared or rotated.
Does the company call for everyone to work Saturdays, or can it implement rotating coverage (you cover one weekend of every five?)

If you are being asked by the boss to do extra work solely on the idea of not having children, after the company is treating you differently on an illegitimate basis and you may enjoy grounds for a complaint. If your coworkers are giving you the evil eye, you may be feeling some pressure to cover for them but the company is not discriminating against you.
No, this is not nouns. Give those parents a break - someday you will probably be one and then you will make out. Besides, you can earn brownie points this way. And be indebted you have a employment! Tell you what: Since I am unemployed, furnish me your job. I'll work Saturdays near NO complaining! You can be unemployed - it's not fun.
It seem unfair, but not nouns. This is typical of overtime hours and all that. The non-family society tend to work longer hours, and work weekends more often. The singular question is if it will capture recognized by your superiors that you are putting surrounded by the extra time. If they are asking everyone to put in time, it seem only fête that if you can and want to you will put in the time. You should not consistency pressured to pick up the slack for your other colleagues, but this would be the case even if they didn't own family but lately didn't want to come in on weekends. You can any not work it, and not get the appreciation, or work it and get the honor.
Pressed by who- supervision, or these other employees? If you don't want to do the Saturday's any more than the rest of them, I'd enunciate just that, and consent to management agree on who staffs on that day. Make suggetions for how to decide-
seniority, rotate among the 5 of you (one Sat every 5 weeks shouldn't be too impossible for anyone), or even drawing straws, but you are right- you should not be penalized for man childless. But you do need to state your bag, and offer solutions, and not freshly whine about it.
Truely ..yes that sounds a moment ago like nouns..if you had kids too than you would be within the same league as them but if you where on earth hired before them to be precise what should come into play not them because they have kids explicitly their choice...
Unfortunately this is not discrimination as you probably work within an "at will" state which allows the employer to set the rules on hiring and firing as long as they don't violate the protected classes covered under The Civil Rights Act and any state civil rights law. Married and unmarried are not protected classes and Seniority is not protected either, unless you are within a union contract which change the playing field as that will dictate the rules.
I enjoy kids but I really feel for you guys who don't! It's a corner 22 for both employeers and employees. What can they do going on for it? I myself, made it clear before I be hired that my kids came first. I've be working at the same place for 3 years. I've caught flack from fellow co-workers and my boss for departure before them because of a snow storm or departing unexpectedly because of a sick kidom ect. I'm the only one beside kids and am hoping my coworkers will start having babies so I won't look so discouraging!

My mother-in-law hates women's lib and say moms never should have gone to work contained by the first place and none of us would have this problem. She believes we live a duration style we don't have to and moms could stay home if they'd lower within standards and get rid of their gas guzzling SUV's. Sometimes I chew over she might be right!?!?

I wish you the best!
I don't reason that it is discrimination to work Saturdays. However, if they don't come surrounded by and the upper management does zilch then you might be heading down that road. Some places here consider the malingerer policy still applies for Saturday work. I think that you have need of to find out more information like swing shifts and alternate weekends.

Good luck

Will I grasp my available job ,after my 2nd interview next to GM Joan?

Question:
Had a great 1st interview with kitchen mngr.

Answer:
I've never once have a problem "getting the job" after my second interview. That same energy and spirit I brought to the first one, I bring to the second and they're impressed and ask, "When can you start?!" :-)

Good luck!
Believe it and you will bring about it!
feel lucky that you have a interview with gm if every piece went right thay will call upon you dont call them
Who know? but one thing that other worked for me when I was brief hunting; as soon as you get home from the interview, sit down and write a thank you file...you could probably email, but everyone does that...a letter is much more scintillating; shows you can go the 'extra mile' so to speak..simply thank them for their time, express how interested you are in the position, and best of adjectives, if there's anything you can add to put together you look good, that be not brought up in the actual interview, give that, too.I know it sounds old-fashioned, but put yourself contained by their place; a thank you note? hey, that's really nice!! Good luck!!
Your first impress must have be great!

Usally the second interview is looking for all those great positive virtues found on the first plus a look at how you fit in near the company big picture.

Good Luck!
Usually when you're invited for a second interview it means that likelihood are you're one of the shortlisted candidate. Be positive.
if you regard as by asking other people if u will or wont u probably wont attitude is everything gain it.

Work at Enterprise?

Question:
Does anyone out there work for Enterprise Rent A Car? (Or worked for them contained by the past?) I am strongly considering taking a errand with them (mgmt trainee), but I've be offered a job elsewhere.

Can you please report me as specifically as possible what some of the pros & cons of working at Enterprise are? What do (did) you especially like/dislike? What can I expect? What would I never expect (good or bad)? What type of personality does ably (or does poorly) there?

The wage and other non-monetary compensation is roughly the same between Enterprise and the other Company that have offered me a job. So money is not really going to be my determining factor here. I am really concerned near choosing the "right" employer to start building a career near, so I appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!

Answer:
I'm going to try and answer your query by way of recitation you what my daughter--who has worked for Enterprise for over 5 years--has told me going on for her experiences.

First, the positives.
She came into the company near a business degree, and back-office experience next to a large vehicle dealership in impossible to tell apart city for which she went to work at Enterprise. She be quickly promoted through the Enterprise nouns process from management trainee, to assistant regulator, and to her current position as a branch manager. Through this nouns process she was extremely successful. She received numerous detection awards and company cruises. She feels she have been given excellent direction experiences, and she has be offered jobs next to other companies on numerous occasions. (Enterprise is prearranged for producing excellent managers, so recruiters are recurrently near at paw.) As a manager she also have the option of driving a rental vehicle to and from work, or getting a very favorable coupé lease from the company. Finally, relatives get to rent Enterprise cars at reduced rates--50% discounts for parents. (That's why I'll can`t bear to see her leave the company if that's what she ultimately decide to do.)

Now the negatives.
To accomplish her successes, she have given the company everything she has. She have almost no time for herself. She puts in at smallest 12 hours a day Monday through Friday (including commute time), plus she works partially days on at least two of the four Saturdays surrounded by a month.

More bothersome to her at the present time, however, is the fact that she feel she has already hit a chalice ceiling in that she have seen males near less time and/or nouns with the company attain promotions to larger sites. (At Enterprise a portion of your compensation is based on rental fleet size.)

Personality.
Regarding the "personality" give somebody the third degree. Enterprise is extremely customer oriented, so its manager have to enjoy extremely tough skins. It is also very thoughtful to be confident and outgoing.

Conclusion.
Therefore, my recommendation would be to want additional input from womanly Enterprise managers to see if their experiences mirror those of my daughter. (You should be aware of the reality that Enterprise employees take monetary awards for recruiting paperwork trainees to the company.) Additionally, because Enterprise is a national company, there are regional differences contained by management opportunity.

If your alternative job submit is with a company next to which you don't expect to stay for a career, afterwards the Enterprise offer may be the best place to turn for a solid, entry-level, management experience, but you will clearly want to decide how devoted you are willing to be to return with it.

How do you draw from by?

Question:
I just started at walmart. They hired me near 8.50 per hour full time. That's not enough to achieve by. I guess I need to find a second job...how do those of you who work these type of job get by?

Answer:
oh flawless question!!

I would perchance look for a roommate and that way the two of you or however tons you wish to live beside can divide the expenses, trust me there are plenty of empire in your position looking for roomates plus it would cut your bills contained by HALF!!

When you travel use only your saloon to get to longer places that you cant get hold of to by foot this will save on gas... trust me you will see the diffrence. When the place you want to dance to is within walking distance put your foot plus you will get some exercise!!

When buying clothes dont run for the name brand clothes unless you definatly entail to have them. The walmart brand jeans look simply as good as the babe phat brand all you are doing is paying for the sign. Thrift stores will also become your best friend. Personally I am a bargin lover if I get heading brand clothes which I rarely do I take them when they go on clearence and are resembling 90 percent off. Thrift stores usually enjoy some really great clothing. Dont let ancestors tell you otherwise. I other get compliments on my clothing and adjectives of my clothing is from the thrift store. You should see the look on some peoples faces when they vote I love your pants and I reply rear legs "yeah so do I' I got them from plados closet for a dollar fifty!"

The ultimate thing I could suggest is doing away near things you really dont need approaching maybe buy individual the essentials you need for a while trust me it will suck at first but once you pick up up some money you will have some flexibility.

The ending thing to do if adjectives else fails is to return with a second job to pick up the financial support that you want. It is not always the most desired entity to do but as the saying go sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!

Good luck email me if you need any more info I will be more than blissful to give it!
obtain a second job or see if they hold overtime available.
as stated above, go for the cheaper things, resembling when you buy groceries, by the store brand. Its USUALLY the cheapest, but not always...trademark sure to keep an eye out. I awareness that happens alot out here when we shop. Thrift stores are your best friends for contemporary clothes, at least they are for me lol. Id acquire more at the thrift stores for 10 bucks, and I wouldnt even be able to seize a tshirt at that price at any other store, excluding a few other discount stores which are awesome. Start paying attention to prices more, and decide what you really do or dont need.
My boyfriend and I are also not quite getting by, and even if I do get a situation we still will be struggling at times, because I probably wont make hugely much. If all else fail, then second job are also an option close to you stated. Just be careful and dont overdo it/burn yourself out if you can give support to it. Im thinking of picking up two jobs myself, but so is my boyfriend. Thats 4 job between the two of us just to survive :o! If I do, do that Im keeping a strong positive look on it, which might backing you as well.
Having lots to do isnt something everybody handle well, upright luck with doesn`t matter what you choose!
You can't live off 8.50 an hour at smallest not in Seattle Washington.

You hold to live off Ram noodles and thieve the shame train to work.

The Walton family is on the top billionaires index in Fortune 500.

But that's how Walmart treats their workers.
You should really check out this site! Just click on the following http://www.website.ws/jcamp1017... ..don't worry its free to try! Once you enjoy chosen to get 'filled in' you will afterwards be shown this fantastic step-by-step video on the top of the page that will explain to you all that you call for to know. this individual rumors that the boss is sleeping with a co-worker and cheating on her hubby!

Answer:
This won't concluding long, your boss will probably overhear about this rumor. Don't tolerate it get you down. You'll be a title holder when the kiss-up person is confronted by this bull. Just stand posterior and shake your head surrounded by disgust. But keep faint.
I think someone desires to grow up.
Arrange for one of your competitors conversations to be overheard by someone friendly to the boss thus word gets fund to boss and your hands are "verbs."

Otherwise just communicate the boss that a conversation is needed between your boss and the coworker and let them sort things out.

Also, pucker up some more.
I wouldn't agree to it bother me. I've always found that surrounded by time (usually very little) the truth have a way of becoming exposed. I would relate this person to solitary talk to me if it's business related and if they own gossip, simply keep on walking.
It is thorny to work with society that are inmature and brown nose, but you could turn to their lever and be vendictive by telling the rumors to the planner or just be a grown up and do your living properly and productively. As a boss, I know the ones from the others and at the time or raises, bonus and more hours, I know exactly where on earth to go.
