Is it appropriate to ask a potential employer for an "earlier" follow-up crowd?

Question:
I'm expecting to hear from a few employers roughly speaking the status of a job soon, but I want to hold out for another one ... is it okay to ask THAT company for an more rapidly follow-up interview? Or, delay the OTHER companies by two weeks? The company I really resembling wants a follow-up surrounded by three weeks. The other companies have said I'll know within one week. And, they're all strong possibilities. One of them, I be brought in by an executive. The others by recruiters who've be working very knotty on my behalf. I don't want to accept one -- lone to leave upon audible range from my top choice. The biz world I live in is unbelievably small. I'd like to ask my top choice to move the engagement up to one week, without seeming pushy -- or showing disregard for their schedule. Any suggestions? Have any of you faced this dilemma ... Bird surrounded by hand, worth three surrounded by a bush!

Answer:
well.. would you turn down offer from the earlier ones near the risk that you dont get an propose from the one you really like ? if no next in certainty you have nought to lose pushing the one you like and if they articulate "no" you are no worse off, and if they read aloud "yes" you have gain.

it shouldn't look bad to the one you really approaching that you have devout offers elsewhere they may enjoy practical problems in have mroe people to see .. or even surrounded by having given someone they really want time to consider!

so I would phone the one you close to, and say you are getting other offer, and can they bring it forward. either they can, or they can't

Are here law that protect your errand if your on parenthood head off?

Question:
Is there any specific imperative that protects mothers returning to work after maternity will that state that you will be garunteed your job that you have prior to leaving? Please comfort!

Answer:
FMLA is what comes to mind.

When I was stale for having my daughter, here's what happen. The first 6 weeks were covered below short-term disability. Per the doctor, and since I had a regular delivery, she would authorize me to return to work within 6 weeks. But according to FMLA, I could take up to 12 weeks total stale. The 2nd 6 weeks would be for no pay next. My understanding is that they don't own to hold your actual job, but endow with you your actual job or an equivalent living (can't be less pay) when you return.

Some companies put together you take adjectives your vacation and sick time back you can go for FMLA though.

For me, I be actually out of a job while on maternity go. I looked into the law when it happen (even though I hated the company). There is a loophole that if you are within the top earners of the company (I was an get and they had heaps, many operator in Thailand making diddly squat to what I be making), it was decriminalized. I think that number be the top 10%. Anyway, the law also said that their "punishment" may be that they enjoy to give me my duty back...and I didn't want it pay for, so I didn't pursue it.
yes, your old undertaking back or something similar
yes but i believe they singular have to hold your position for up to 12 weeks you may want to look into your job rules...
Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993
Check the link. Its the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. You can thank Bill Clinton for this one.
Yep. There are law in place that protect working parents underneath the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
If you've worked for the company more than 1 year you would qualify for fmla - if the company has more than 25 body.
If your company has an hr department, walk to them with specific question. If they don't have an hr department or nearby are other issues surrounding your leave, I recommend contacting your states labor department.

Check the "Family and Medical Leave Act". It provides protection for team when there is an bug or pregnancy in the clan. This is a federal law.

What types of question will the ask me at a interview for target or walmart??

Question:
They called me for a interview, but I don't know what types of words to look out for or how to dress. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Answer:
The interview at wal-mart is unforced. Just be your self and answer truthfully. Well unless your self is crazy and like to shoplift, after LIE. Say lots of stuff about taking consideration of the Customer, organization and getting along next to others. Wear slacks and a nice shirt... No jeans, they don't most of the employees to wear consequently to work, so don't wear them to the interview. They might also ask you questions something like resolving conflict. If you can, relate stories with olden experience in them. Don't ask nearly pay or benefits unless prompted, of late makes you look greedy. I don't know around Target, but their criteria should be similar.
clean clothes
They aren't looking for Rhodes Scholars to work at Wal Mart so newly be yourself and do your best to answer the questions.
Look around at general public working there, if they did it you can to,, not a big agreement,, you'll see.
Just dress smart and fresh looking they will look for enthusiasm and politeness with a potential for working capably with others. I construe you will be fine I worked for Walmart in days gone by good company lately want friendly and enthusiastic staff who are willing to graft, well-mannered luck with the unusual job.
I believe close to most company's they will want to know what experience you have have dealing with the public. They will want to know what organize you to apply for this particular duty and what qualification you feel you own that this job is right for you. If you have other jobs they may ask did you quit this duty if so may ask reason. They may also ask what income you are looking for and what you feel you may swot from having a post at Walmart.
Have you ever taken anything without approval at anytime.
It's kind of a trick press because you're not sure if they mean steal or borrow something close to a pen from someone without here knowledge.
When it comes to wal-mart they usually print out the questionaire that you took on the kiosk and ask almost ones you might have missed. Or some pointed question that is on their interviewers sheet. Other than that wear business uninterested clothing, no open toed shoes (you may be working practical pallets, you don't want crushed toes), nothing too revealing, and no obscene words or gesture on your clothing.

If a potential employer asks... do you own any question for me? What should I ask?

Question:

Answer:
The most important is what are the benefits and what are someways that you can move up surrounded by the company. Employers likes to hear that you are impatient and that you have what it steal to move up.
Why do you like working for this company?
How long own you been here?
Ask something like turnover.
Ask if this position is new or a replacement. If a replacement, ask why the previous entity left.
Ask when to expect to receive a response.
How long have this company been up and running? How do you see me fitting into your company? Is here any room for advancement into other positions?
You should find something that you want to know about the company since going into the interview. Even if you already know the answer to the question, ask one anyway because it shows your interested and ambitious.
It's across the world a good concept to ask questions as it shows you enjoy an interest for the job.

Even if you know the errand for which you are appling it's always perfect to ask about everything you'd be doing, how long it take to work your way up surrounded by the department in jargon of career possibilites, ect.
There are copious things you can ask. Ask something related to the job or the company itself. For example "Can you narrate me about the culture here?" or "What are the opportunity for advancement?" or "Can you tell me what you delight in about working here?" . Make sure you ask question related to the job or company. And it's without a flaw acceptable to own a list beside you of those questions. It shows you're prepared and thinking roughly the job.
Great grill!

Where I am in Orlando, a LOT of job are temporary and that certainty often unknown until the interview. I individually went for a position at Disney World contained by their Industrial Hygiene department and all be good until I ASKED the INTERVIEWER if the mission was undying. That's when he informed me it was a replacement until some woman come back from parenthood leave.

So a MAJOR examine is to inquire whether or not the job is unchanging or temporary.

The ones mentioned are flawless too.
That will usually happen at the running out of interview. The questions can be: When will I hear from you almost the final decision? Will in that be any second interview? What is the salary catalogue? Is there any professional nouns program your employees? etc.

How do you recommend dealing next to a boss beside lone negative to read aloud within a show review even though 99%?

Question:
of your job is exemplary?

Answer:
I'd guess you upset the cr*p out of your supervisor because he/she feels threatened by supremely competent subordinates -- hopefully its basically a matter of time someone up above notice too -- either that or the individual doesn't understand perf reviews aren't single about nit-picking, but that positive things and contributions that don't entail to be fixed need to be identified

I make a point of a short time ago simply recognizing a available job well done -- and that simple tribute inspires incredible loyalty
Take solice in the reality that this person is much more miserable contained by life than you, and transport what criticisms they offer as constructive.

People close to you move upwards and onwards to take the job of those like your boss. Keep on trudgin', soldier.
probably for constructive criticism. any that or start looking for another job.

Business and nouns?

Question:
I work for a company that is really bleak about giving population their breaks and lunches. If you were me, what would you do?

Answer:

What should I wear to a corporate interview?

Question:
I've been contained by the creative field for so long . . .what's appropriate for a corporate environment?

Answer:
If it is an entry stratum position, wear something simple like a duo of black or khaki slacks or knee length skirt and a simple, crisp, collared shirt or turtle collar in a solid color preferably white or a impartial color or a soft brighter color such as pink, green etc. Nothing dramatic or splashy or expensive.

Unfortunately, most, not all, corporations frown on the character with the super expensive suit or dress, but they make smaller amount money than the person interviewing them. Makes the employer perceive that either you are a show rotten, a braggart or frivolous with money.

If you are applying for an executive position, after it is expected of you to have nice clothing. Does not really give the impression of being fair or right, but it's trueness.

Just go beside business casual as I described above within either baggage and you'll be safe. The most critical thing is that you wow them near your personality and intelligence.

Good luck!
I used to wear suits, any pants or skirts.
A blue or grey pant or skirt suit
Sheer, flesh color hose
Low black heels
Minimal jewelry and makeup
I would rather be overdressed than below dressed, but with that man said... don't be afraid to stop by the office a couple of days precipitate and see what people at that department where.

Send contained by a friend to ask directions if it is a small place where they may see you. Call the Secretary and ask her bluntly... she may be able to serve you more than you think.
Preferably a suit (matching jacket and slim skirt) next to a blouse under the jacket, nylons and pumps.
Navy blue jacket, white blouse, pale grey skirt, nice clean shoes, no purse but a briefcase is adjectives right. For a little color, a red or color analogous scarf. Good luck.
Wear business attire. I'm in the creative corral and have rejected plentiful candidates because they looked approaching they're out for a day at the shore. Regardless of whether it's corporate or not, alway wear a suit on a job interview. It doesn't event what the office dress code is, you are showing everyone that interviews you a sign of respect, that you watchfulness what first impression you create.
I am not a professional style consultant, but I do dress myself and I have participate in oodles interviews, on both sides of the table. So I feel qualified to contribute the following important tips:

Every outfit appropriate to a corporate interview begin with the proper inspection of undergarments. The goal should be comfort and at duplicate time a hint of naughtiness that, combined, will provide you that extra pep in your step. An nouns of confidence and ease is essential for making the right hollow. In place of your usual thong, try wearing some skimpy seemless boyshorts (you don't want any lines to disrupt your otherwise perfect ensemble). Your bra should provide adequate support to make it clear you are womanly despite the rather mannish clothes you will be wearing for the interview.

So in that you go: cute and comfy boyshorts, a supportive bra and a bit mannish clothing. The recipe for success!

Hi Sally,

I've have a lot of experience over times past 3 years with this subject. I go through litereally 50+ different companies on the interent trying to make money while I be in college. There's sooo much crap out within and companies that promise you the world but deliver nothing but hype, it take a while to seperate the crap from the genuine money making opportunity.

Now after sooo many disapointments I'm using a crowd call The Ultimate Wealth Package and it's now making me money (finally!) online.

These are not get rich high-speed, but if you apply it to a T, you will start earning money. Paychecks are sent from Clickbank, a third gala company that is also contestant of the BBB. You can do this even if you live outside the USA. I took the chance and tried it out and it have worked for me. This is not a scam, I have my paychecks to prove it. Some citizens are scared to bring together because it cost $49.95, but its a very small price to money. One of my friends recommended me a very worthy matrix system recently call "Our Power Forced Matrix" (OPFM). Thus, I joined the program and found out myself that it's material and legal. Actually OPFM is a group of relations working hard together as a troop to build a strong matrix, we all shared an uninformed dream, that's why we backing each other to realize our goal. Of course it's not free, I don't believe one can earn money in need hard work or some investment. But the nicer part of a set of the matrix is its due is only $7 per month (Almost everyone can afford a $7 matrix), and it requires merely 2 paid member on your first level (you can any pay for them or agree to them pay by themselves) to cover your dues. Matrix have the most advanced pay plan on the lattice. Commissions reach $11,600 near only 5% of your down column filled. Because I meditate this program is very obedient for a beginner who wishes to start his/her home based business, thus, I share it here. And I'm willing to salary for those who are really serious.

The company is legal; it's inspected by U.S. Attorney for compliance next to U.S.regulation.

I can't amount out what work to do for my enthusiasm that won't be boring?

Question:

Answer:
become a teacher!!
the work may carry boring... but if you're doing your job, and man involved with the kid's erudition... it'll never be boring.
All jobs procure boring after awhile.
um get a employment where you can travel alotor be a chef!
chocolate taster?
what do you similar to to do?
if you have any feeling in time, something that is what you would love to do adjectives the time,, then try to be contained by that area for you occupation. You may not variety as much money as you would at another job,, but you'll relish life so much more.

If you own no passion for anything,, what difference does it put together what you do??
What are your interests? Someone once said if you get a living you love you'll never work a day within your life. There's a profession out there to fit almost any vehemence.
well, i don't know where on earth in enthusiasm u are, but study something u have a true commitment for. if u like it, run it up. don't always be stuck next to a job because of money, but do it for you (but still breed sure it's reasonable pay). right luck =)
Work in a down salon or nail salon. It never get boring there! Or if you don't close to that idea consequently you should be a therapist if you close to to be nosy and hold something to talk just about!
well if you are immature then don't verbs about it you will find something. if you are out of college already all the same youstill don't know what to do then in recent times take some hours of darkness classes or get involved contained by a church or something to find out what you are interested in after run with it.
here are test you can give somebody a lift that shows what you are interested in but I consider any job after afternoon in and sunshine out gets to be alike OL Same Ol
but if you hate your opening THATS BAD and a sign that you need to desire a differant field, if you dislike intensely your job you will become crabby and discern crappy ASK ME Ill tell ya just about it ha ha ha
A job is what you do to earn a living. What you do after work define who you are.
Do something that you like to do, or lift an aptitude test to find out what you are best suited for.
what do you close to to do? you must find something that fits with whom you are, the track you are, the things you like. for a work not to be boreing it must become part of your duration, part of your identity. we adjectives know life get boreing sometimes, but if you find something you are fimiliar with your opening can be the one thing you can look forward to everyday to certainly be something that you can do when you are bored or think around. you probably need something where on earth you can use both your mind and your body! keep trying you will find the right employment if you keep trying!! fitting luck!!
Take the Meyers-Briggs (MBTI) test of your self-image and then look up job that people of your self type have enjoy. Fear of boredom can also be a sign of inflated ego. The thought that you will learn everything in that is to know about work and become bored, etc.

Any job that involves society will have some liveliness and unpredictability near it. So, consider that in your finding.

Also remember that nothing is durable in your inspection, many citizens change professions...I did up to that time I started off within medicine.
Figure out what you love to do and are fitting at, then apply those skills to the workforce for the "right" living.
I have struggled this this massively question for most of my vivacity. Here is my advice...first amount out what you are good at, that other society find difficult. Then with that skill surrounded by mind, look at careers that will put that skill to use. I believe you will find a direction toward something that will hang on to your interest and you will be successful at! Good Luck!
If you don't have a clue as to what type of profession you want to receive into, there are test that you can take to see what fits your sense of self, likes and dislikes. I deem it's call the MYERS-BRIGGS Type Indicator exam (and could also be referred to as the Career Assessment test). I can also help you find out what your encumbrance and strengths are. For example, when done you will get a roll of 50 job titles that you may find yourself most interested within, and 50 job titles that you may find smaller amount interesting, or definitely a profession you don't want to do.

I've been told they can cost almost $1500 to $2000 to take, but I took one at city college and one at the employment bureau, both were free of charge.

Laid bad , can I sue the employer?

Question:
I was let go from work on Jan 9th, 2007 due to no work. But heres the catch they hired a guy 1 week prior to this and he be not laid off i be there 2 months already. I hold also found out that just lately they hired a guy in my same position. Does not the employer own to call me hindmost before they hire a fresh guy? Do I have any lawful recourse. I live in New Mexico. I have a feeling i have be treated unfairly and it have also cost me lost wages due to this matter. Please if someone could comfort me on this I would appreciate it.

Answer:
Checkl the labor laws surrounded by your area. Technically, you are still surrounded by your probation period and an employer can abandon an employee during this time. Be grateful you get a lay-off so you can draw unemployment benefits.
powerfully sounds like someone is tryin to drop you resembling a rock! With an employee who have the propincity to sue I would get rid of you too!
Gosh - not sure it is illicit but it sure does suck. I'd call your Attorney General's Office and see if they hold any advice.
depends on if New Mexico is a hire/fire at will state. Depends on your position too. Since you be there 2 months, most companies hold a 90 day probationary spell, so you just may be out of luck any way. Instead of worrying going on for suing, work on getting another job. Obviously, they weren't that into you.
