i've been placed through a transient staffing agency at a position with a county agency surrounded by california (with whom i had to interview to win the job). i've now held this position for over three years. i would approaching to know what regulations (if any) are in place that might see my position becoming undying.

I would check with your local Labor & Industries department to find out what you can do.

Outside of that, I know that companies typically pay more for temp services than they do when they hire, HOWEVER... they don't enjoy to pay benefits for that creature, so the overall cost is lower. For instance, when I was temping for the charge I'm at now (temped for 3mo, perm for 9yrs), they be paying the temp agency $12/hr (of which the temp agency paid me $8). When I be hired as a permanent member of staff, I made $9, so I made more and the company paid smaller amount. However they also have to rate for all my benefits.

I know that surrounded by most cases, companies also have to "buy" team FROM the temp agency if they want to hire them permanently. The cost to the company vary, but in some cases can be rather a bit. My boss was up front next to me at the time and said told me that our Corp. office have "issues" with paying such a levy to get me. Luckily for me, they agency have supplied a bad temp contained by the past, so they give my employer a great deal on me. :)

Have you checked with your short-term agency? Perhaps they would be able to assist you beside this. If you are happy next to what you are doing I would continue working near this company. Perhaps they do not have the budget to hire you as a lifelong employee. But they must approaching what you are doing or you wouldn't have have this position for three years.

At this point, you can actually be classified as an member of staff. A US company needs to be deeply careful how it classifies it's workers.

After three years of work directed by the employ firm (ie you don't report into a seperate external manager), you would easily be considered an hand under IRS rules. I'm assuming greater benefits or compensation exists as an employee, and as such you'd be entitled to the appeal of those.

A good example is Microsoft's 97 million dollar loss contained by it's 'PermaTemp' case. Talk to a legal representative, and really value what you could capture. Bringing up that your employer is breaking the law can shorten your occupation path...

Yes I do..and the only guidance I can give to you is to RUN presently while you have a choice. They will embezzle your money and give you a start packet.
