Be honest & truthful just about your experience & during the interview, express how open you are to trying current positions, responsiblities & such. You might not get that coveted position right rotten, BUT getting hired is your foot in the door to that position next on.
No, I don't think it is ok to slouch about definite things on a resume. You can't claim to have done something you never enjoy, but you might get away beside saying you did something longer next what you did. It would be mortifying if your boss found out so I'd be cautious of what you lied just about.
