This is a simpole situation and can be related to ANY workplace.
If an employee chooses not to work i.e they hail as in sick, ask to walk home, Volunteer for a short shift or ask for time off the employer have no obligation to payment them.
If the employer stops the work, and the employee is predisposed to work, they have to foot the full wage of the employee, i.e if a shift is overstaffed and they convey you home, if you are ill and want to stay at work but they convey you home, or in your overnight case, if the chose to close the establishement.
I should add that a full wage equates to your contracted hours, not usual hours. If you are on a "nil contract" which is quite permissible and alot of employers do, you may be entitled to nil. Check the contract.

Whwn I am really lagging wager on on my work. I do the following.
When I come to work first thing i do when I conquer my desk is I create a To Do List for the day, inside no more then 5 minutes.
Takes another 5 minutes to prioritize the detail.
And also the to do list shoudent hold stuff like. Eat lunch, attain coffey,get quality newspaper stuff like that.
Also once when assignment is done I strike it out.
and when i strike it out I just partial view over my list to see what subsequent. The next article you do should not necessarly be the next point on your list. If you fell some entry else should be done first. or your bored doing certain tasks. you might wana pick a fun errand just to preserve you interested. Or just embezzle a break if you need one. Dont push it unless you really necessitate to.
At the end of the daylight or the next time you will allways find time to fool around a little bit.
