How not easy is to find a employment within Charlotte, NC?
Question:
I need to move to Charlotte as soon as possible. Im have a hard time finding a career. I woiuld like to receive inputs roughly industries located there, cost of living and suggestions around living conditions in the city.
Answer:
Obviously you know Lowe's Corp is nearby. Food Lion Corp is in Salisbury, Bell Corp office (Major Dept Store) are also located in Charlotte. Check out the Charlotte Business Journal on chain as well as the Charlotte Observer, they hold classifieds and career builder. We are from So Cal and we are moving to the Charlotte nouns.
Here is the NC Employment Security Commission job finder, hope it help.
http://www.ncesc.com/individual/jis/...
I moved here about 1 1/2 years ago. I love it here. First stale, as for a job, it depends on what you do. Banking is huge here. Your best bet is checking online through Charlotte.com and the Observer for employment. The cost of living isn't too discouraging, depending on where you live. Check out living within Matthews, Indian Trail, Waxhaw, and even Huntersville. If you're interested in living uptown...it's extremely expensive (as beside any city). Hope this helps.
I of late moved to Charlotte a couple months ago and I had no problem finding a undertaking here. I also see a lot of Now Hiring signs out front of builds and what not. I guess it depends on what open-handed of job your looking for. As far as cost of living is concerned, I really don't know to much in the order of where you are moving from so I can't compare it. Living conditions aren't the greatest seeing as how Charlotte have the 3rd worst Water in the nation! Not to mention a ton of raid!

My company won't furnish me a suggestion!?
Question:
I was dumfounded to find out just this minute that my current employer won't give out reference to ANYBODY, because of fear of court repercussions if they supply misleading information, apparently. Are they allowed to do this?! I am trying to apply for jobs at the moment where on earth they require references to cover your previous 3 years of employment, but I won't be capable of give them this.
It's so unwarranted, I'm a very virtuous employee, even if I do voice so myself!!
Answer:
It is a company's prerogative whether or not to give a insinuation. However, you can, and absolutely should, chronicle them in your work history next to a contact number. At the very smallest, they are obliged to verify that you did, indeed work within.
If you do need a hint as to your work ethic, schedule, perchance even your pay, you could ask a former co-worker if they wouldn't mind mortal the reference - and on your application/resume you should indicate them as such & a short sentence of why. "Due to company policy to not provide quotation, with consent I am utilizing a former co-worker."
get a personal insinuation from someone who worked with (preferably) over you. also hr should at most minuscule type a letter dictum how long you were in attendance and why you left, and you can ask for a copy of your hand file so you'll enjoy your performance reviews to show populace.
If they dont give out refs for ANYbody, next thats their story--no problem then thats how their HR works
yes, heaps have this policy
If they furnish good ref, and contained by the end you are not that virtuous, they can be sued
if they give you desperate ref - you may sue them for this bad ref
This is a world designed for lawyer
If their policy really is to not give referneces first sour, you're better off somewhere else, and second, you shouldask them for a dispatch stating that this is their policy and your dates of employment to cover yourself. Get personal reference or ask other individuals you have interacted near in a businesslike demeanour to give you a suggestion.
They're entirely within their rights not to offer references, I'm afraid.
This is not uncommom at adjectives. Most companies will provide proof that you worked there but as far as reference go you are out of luck. Sorry.
yeah some companies wont do that, but they will present you the dates you worked near. but what you can do is talk to someone you worked next to and they can be a reference, it doesnt enjoy to be directly from hr
Sucks to be you.
Of course they are "allowed". Why wouldn't they be??
many companies do not furnish out personal references, they solely confirm the last post held, and the date that you worked,.
Most companies won't give you a mention. The HR department will only confirm that you worked for them and for how long your worked next to them. They will not give any information nearly any reviews you had or anything that might be surrounded by your employee report. However, you can still ask people you've worked for/with to be a personal suggestion. I have have my past manager and fellow engineer be reference for me.
Companies are not required by law to furnish refs, most use a refusal as a bad ref, the defence behind this because by canon they can't give a doomed to failure one so by refusing it looks doomed to failure without dictum so
First of all, I can't believe you asked your current employer for a hint. NEVER do this. Your prospective company will understand. You can provide them next to a co-worker which I've found they accept. As for your current company not providing a mention, why would they? If they want you to stay, they don't want to build you up. If they don't like you, they justifiably can't give you a doomed to failure reference. A 'no comment' is roughly the same entity. Tell your prospective company that the reason they won't provide a suggestion is because they want you to stay.
One solution would be to advise the prospective employer the companies policy in relation to references. Offer to show them reward stubs or W-2 forms that will show you worked for that employer and verify your wage earned while you worked nearby. You can ask for a letter of mention but I would be willing to bet that if they won't verify employment to an outside agency they probably won't supply you a letter of quotation either.
Yes, companies are allowed to do this and oodles have this as a policy. I own heard this have come about is because tons companies have be sued for giving "bad" references, even unconsciously.
A former company I worked for was sued by a former hand, and the company lost. She sued on the basis that the citation we gave her jeopardized her from seeking other employment opportunity. It was true too because our department manager literally said, "she's a nice girl but sometimes can be a ding-bat"
They are allowed to do this and frequent companies follow this course of action to avoid imperative suits.
Most companies will however confirm that you worked for them from--to.
Employers do understand this and contained by my experience (30+ years of management) what you look for is a history of work rather than judgements of wherewithal which may be clouded of even falsified. You make your own assessment at the interview, let face it, your interpretation of well brought-up may be someone elses excellent, satisfactory or poor.
