She is trying to show you how things work at the company you are at. I am within the same position; my coworkers can literally do what they want and I own to fix their messes. I have gone to HR and while they did formulate some suggestions to my boss, he has chosen to craft sure that the greater masses are elated and I am left as a complete grunt to do what accountants do (clean up everybody elses mess).
I literally own three bosses in a department of 4. A/P clerk and A/R clerks hold more leverage than I do because of seniority. I'm a Financial Analyst- go integer.it is more of an administrative/financial janitor position at this place. Definitely makes one wonder why they get their degree.
In any event, I own had several comments made audibly making sure that I understand where on earth I belong and a boss who is a complete wuss if confronted with this, or any other problem. So my time here is fixed not to mention I have no where on earth to move up. I have resigned myself to looking elsewhere.
My suggestion to you is to look for another opening. If this person have long time friends there, she have probably done this before and get away with the behavior. Your HR department will probably not volunteer much help, and if it is approaching my case, you will draw from the repercussions.
