Surveyors?
Question:
what does the job entale?, and why do they go and get bad mouthed adjectives the time??
Answer:
Surveyors, cartographers, and photogrammetrists are responsible for measuring and map the earth’s surface. Traditionally, surveyors establish official parkland, airspace, and water boundaries. They write descriptions of landscape for deeds, leases, and other allowed documents; define airspace for airports; and give somebody a lift measurements of construction and mineral sites. Other surveyors provide data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation, or dimension of topography or land features. Cartographers compile geographic, political, and cultural information and prepare map of large areas. Photogrammetrists calculate and analyze aerial photographs that are subsequently used to prepare detailed map and drawings. Surveying and mapping technicians assist these professionals surrounded by their duties by collecting data surrounded by the field and using it to subtract mapmaking information for use in performing computations and computer-aided drafting.
Surveyors weigh distances, directions, and angles between points and elevations of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface. In the paddock they select known survey quotation points, and determine the precise location of important features within the survey area. Surveyors research legally recognized records, look for evidence of previous boundaries, and analyze the facts to determine the location of boundary lines. They also record the results of surveys, verify the care of data, and prepare plots, map, and reports. Surveyors who establish boundaries must be licensed by the State in which they work. Surveyors are sometimes call to provide expert testimony contained by court cases concerning matters pertaining to surveying.
Some surveyors get something done specialized functions closer to those of cartographers than to those of traditional surveyors. For example, geodetic surveyors use high-accuracy techniques, including satellite observations (remote sensing), to benchmark large areas of the earth’s surface. Geophysical prospecting surveyors sitting duck sites for subsurface exploration, usually in relation to petroleum. Marine or hydrographic surveyors survey harbors, rivers, and other bodies of dampen to determine shorelines, the topography of the bottom, water depth, and other features.
There is more to surveying and cartography than meet the eye. Chains, transits, theodolites, and plumb lines have given bearing to cutting-edge technology such as the Global Positioning System (GPS), laptops, and robotic total stations as the preferred tools of surveyors. Advanced computer software known as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) enjoy become an invaluable tool to booth surveyors and cartographers.
Surveyors are able to use GPS to locate quotation points with a dignified degree of precision. To use this system, a surveyor places a satellite signal receiver—a small instrument mounted on a tripod—on a desired point, and another heir on a point for which the geographic position is known. The heir simultaneously collects information from several satellites to establish a precise position. The receiver also can be placed within a vehicle for tracing out road systems. Because receivers in a minute come in different sizes and shapes, and because the cost of receiver has fall, much more surveying work can be done with GPS. Surveyors next must interpret and check the results produced by the new technology.
Fieldwork is done by a survey event that gathers the information needed by the surveyor. A typical survey deputation consists of a party chief and one or more surveying technicians and helper. The party chief, who may be any a surveyor or a senior surveying technician, leads day-to-day work actions. Surveying technicians assist the party chief by adjust and operating surveying instruments, such as the total station, which measures and records angles and distances simultaneously. Surveying technicians or assistants position and hold the vertical rods, or target, that the operator sights on to estimate angles, distances, or elevations. In totting up, they may hold measuring tape, if electronic distance-measuring equipment is not used. Surveying technicians compile transcription, make sketches, and enter the background obtained from surveying instruments into computers any in the grazing land or at the office. Survey party also may include laborers or helpers who act less skilled duties, such as clearing brush from verbs lines, driving stakes, or carrying equipment.
GIS software is capable of assembling, integrating, analyzing, and displaying information identified according to location and compiled from previous surveys and mappings. GIS software has become an historic tool of both surveyors and cartographers. A GIS typically is used to handle map which combine information that is adjectives for environmental studies, geology, engineering, planning, business marketing, and other disciplines. As more of these systems are developed, a new type of map scientist is emerging from the older specialties of photogrammetrist and cartographer; the geographic information specialist combines the functions of map science and surveying into a broader field concerned beside the collection and analysis of geographic data.
FYI: Key Points:
*About 2 out of 3 job were surrounded by architectural, engineering, and related services.
*Opportunities will be best for surveyors, cartographers, and photogrammetrists who have a bachelor’s amount and strong technical skills.
*Applicants for job as technicians may face competition.
Training:
Most citizens prepare for a career as a licensed surveyor by combining postsecondary university courses in surveying next to extensive on-the-job training. However, as technology advances, a 4-year college scope is increasingly becoming a prerequisite. A number of universities immediately offer 4-year programs principal to a bachelor’s degree contained by surveying. Junior and community colleges, technical institutes, and vocational school offer 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year programs within both surveying and surveying technology.
All 50 States and all U.S. territory license surveyors. For licensure, most State licensing boards require that individuals slip away a written examination given by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Most States also require surveyors to miss a written examination prepared by the State license board. In addition, candidate must meet varying standards of formal schooling and work experience in the paddock.
In the past, abundant with little formal training contained by surveying started as members of survey crews and worked their course up to become licensed surveyors. Currently, the route to licensure is most often a combination of 4 years of college, followed by hall of the Fundamentals of Surveying Exam. After passing this exam, most candidate continue to work below the supervision of an experienced surveyor for another 4 years and then bear the Principles and Practice of Surveyors Exam for licensure. Specific requirements for training and education come and go among the States. An increasing number of States require a bachelor’s degree contained by surveying or in a closely related corral, such as civil engineering or forestry (with courses in surveying), regardless of the number of years of experience. Some States require the amount to be from a school recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Many States also have a continuing schooling requirement.
High school students interested contained by surveying should take courses within algebra, geometry, trigonometry, drafting, mechanical drawing, and computer science. High conservatory graduates beside no formal training in surveying usually start as apprentices. Beginners next to postsecondary school training within surveying usually can start as technicians or assistants. With on-the-job experience and formal training in surveying—either contained by an institutional program or from a correspondence school—workers may advance to senior survey technician, later to party chief, and, surrounded by some cases, to licensed surveyor (depending on State licensing requirements). However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to gain licensure in need a formal education surrounded by surveying.
The National Society of Professional Surveyors, a member alliance of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, has a voluntary documents program for surveying technicians. Technicians are certified at four levels requiring progressive amounts of experience, within addition to the endorsement of written examinations. Although not required for State licensure, many employer require certification for promotion to positions beside greater responsibilities.
Skills Needed: Surveyors should have the talent to visualize objects, distances, sizes, and abstract forms. They must work with precision and care, because mistakes can be costly. Members of a survey party must be contained by good physical condition, because they work outdoors and habitually carry equipment over difficult terrain. They requirement good eyesight, coordination, and audible range to communicate verbally and manually (using foot signals). Surveying is a cooperative operation, so good interpersonal skills and the skill to work as part of a squad are important. Good bureau skills also are essential, because surveyors must be able to research elderly deeds and other legal papers and prepare reports that document their work.
Job Outlook:
Overall employment of Surveyors, cartographers, photogrammetrists, and surveying technicians is expected to grow nearly as fast as average for adjectives occupations through the year 2014. The indiscriminate availability and use of advanced technologies, such as GPS, GIS, and remote sensing, will verbs to increase both the accuracy and productivity of these workers, limiting charge growth to some extent. However, job opening will continue to arise from the call for to replace workers who transfer to other occupation or who leave the labor force altogether. Many of the workers contained by these occupations are approaching retirement age.
Opportunities for surveyors, cartographers, and photogrammetrists should remain concentrated surrounded by architectural, engineering, and related services firms. Areas such as urban planning, emergency preparedness, and natural resource exploration and map also should provide employment growth, particularly near regard to producing map for the management of emergency and updating maps beside the newly available technology. However, employment may fluctuate from year to year as a function of construction commotion or with map needs for arrive and resource management.
Opportunities should be stronger for professional surveyors than for surveying and map technicians. Advancements in technology, such as total stations and GPS, hold made surveying parties smaller than they be in the recent past. Opportunities for technicians should be available in supporting GIS-related data-entry work. However, many people possess the basic skills needed to qualify for these job, so applicants for technician jobs may facade competition.
As technologies become more complex, opportunity will be best for surveyors, cartographers, and photogrammetrists who have a bachelor’s point and strong technical skills. Increasing constraint for geographic data, as opposing traditional surveying services, will mean better opportunity for cartographers and photogrammetrists who are involved in the nouns and use of geographic and land information systems. New technology, such as GPS and GIS, also may enhance employment opportunities for surveyors, and for surveying technicians who enjoy the educational setting and who have acquire technical skills that see them to work with the investigational systems. At the same time, upgraded license requirements will continue to put a ceiling on opportunities for professional advancement for those short a bachelor’s degree.
Wages:
Median annual profits of surveyors were $42,980 surrounded by May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $31,940 and $57,190. The lowest 10 percent earn less than $24,640 and the matchless 10 percent earned more than $71,640. Median hourly proceeds of surveyors employed in architectural, engineering, and related services be $41,710 in May 2004.
Median annual income of surveying and mapping technicians be $30,380 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earn between $23,600 and $40,100. The lowest 10 percent earned smaller quantity than $19,140, and the highest 10 percent earn more than $51,070. Median annual earnings of surveying and map technicians employed in architectural, engineering, and related services be $28,610 in May 2004, while those employed by local government had median annual yield of $34,810.
I think within the past, surveying be taken very seriously, even though it is key work...now beside all the technology involved, there's not a short time ago liscensing required in the grazing land but more certifications are becoming available for the field, so the work is becoming more "professional".
Good luck!

I feel while within the interview you have to turn like this "do or die".
Because you hold more oppertunities among yourself. so you have to answer next to full confident, perfect what you know, dont denay any question, feel you know everythink and dont know anythink, bring in to feel others you own commanding and leading dimensions. Must be go beside perfect and verbs personality. The most impressive think you must be swot and teach.
There are loads of detailed books relating to how to perform powerfully at an interview, read one of those. I've interviewed lots of staff, be confident but not desparate, and DON'T arrive 15 minutes early as someone have suggested on here. People are busy & don't like it if you show up impulsive, they aren't ready for you. Show up merely 5 minutes early & put together sure you know how to get nearby first & how long it will take you. Tell them at the conclusion of the interview it sounds like a great livelihood & you hope to hear from them soon, or ask when you can expect to hear from them if they haven't mentioned that. Ask good question about the post & company, but not silly ones.
Pay tilt?
Question:
I used to be a temp but now they want me full time. I own no idea what to ask for for income. Also, they want to give me benefits. What do I do? I am at a loss. In my nouns (northern Virginia), it says I should be earn 28,000 a year for being a receptionist. Is that right?
Answer:
First, man someone that lives in Northern Virginia, I know that $28,000 is not seriously of money. (I mention this because people within other parts of the country might not appreciate this) However, it's about right, I'd say-so, for a receptionist that didn't have too various other duties. Maybe even a little smaller quantity. Somewhat depends on the size of the business. A "front desk" person at a company next to 1000 people within the building has different duties that an administrative assistant supporting a dozen family in a small canon firm.
If you've been a "full time" (i.e., 8 hours a day) temp, duplicate position should pay going on for 75% (plus or minus) per hour if you're now getting benefits. So, if you be getting $15/hour before, it's possible to get rewarded $11-$12/hour, if you're getting "full" benefits. That's about $24,000/year.
Depends also on the benefits. Paid break? How much of dental/health do they pay? Access to a company gym? 401(k) clash? You need to whip the "value" of all of the benefits. My example is base on the assumption that you're getting about $7000 "worth" of benefits. If the benefits aren't worth $7000 to you, you're better bad staying a temp. If the benefits are worth more than $7000, then it's other and you should take it.
First see what they extend you and if you think it's valid. accept it and don't forget you will gain full benefits too. Good luck and good commission.
Is it even-handed for your boss?
Question:
Do you think that it is balanced for your boss to have the bake set on 58Degrees when it is only 30 outside??
Answer:
no only just because he's hot nature or trying to let go on his bill I guess this dumbo does not know about the 68 rule!! take a sweater girl he sounds like a JERK!!
NO!!

No. That's cold.
No I judge he is a little cheap beside the heat and he may be comfortable wearing a jacket within work but I would tell him that he any puts the heat up of find someone else.
doesn't issue what's the temp outside, usually it requires to set minimum 68. contact village/county office.
Unless your employer advertise the job as working within cold conditions, such as warehouse for example, it is not reasonable. That said, you're probably aggression a losing battle. You could complain, but its tough to win this class of battle - even if the thermostat go up, chnaces are you'd be marked as a troublemaker by someone who think 58 degrees is Ok. I'd dress affably and seriously look for another place to work.
Absolutely! It's his business, and he, like our great Commander contained by Chief, Curious George W., is the decider. The *only* decider.
However, if you have some match and a metal trash can, you could start tossing TPS reports in, and start a moment or two fire to warm you up.
in good health, I would think that he would want his staff to move quicker but surrounded by reality he probably know that if he cranks up the heat that it could blow your stove... I am sure like mine it have been working overtime. I would basically try to be dressed in layer so that if you are too hot you can loose some stuff.

What effect, if any, is near on the bump up of minimum wage?
Question:
The federal minimum wage is going up to 7.25 per hour. What effect, if any, is there to those of us who already form more than 7.25 per hour?
Answer:
No effect. Sorry. Just be glad that you aren't one of those who really is making $5.15 an hour - if you've been making above $7.25, you've be that much better off adjectives along (not that it's easy at $8 or $10 an hour).
Their spending ability will be reduced when companies start charging more to pay for their organization. THANKS!
none whatsoever, however, many stores use it as an excuse to angle prices, so your money doesn't go as far.
Someone making nearly 10/hour may care more than someone making 16/hour since it seem so close to the new minimum, but you and I both know employer will pretend not to notice and it'll be business as usual. Just because minimum wage go up, I doubt employers are going to estimate, "Oh, I'd better give adjectives my above-minimum wage employees a bump up now!" That'll be the afternoon. But I'm grateful I'm on a steady salary and my rate is more than adequate for what I do, which is sit on my *** surrounded by an office for 6 hours out of the 8 I'm here! Hooray for fancy schoolin'! No. You'll sacrifice your health and own to pay doctor or hospital bills.
no,i detested nights! You suggest it is great, i thought so till i tried it. I was other tired and felt sick. I despised going in at hours of darkness, getting out of bed and leaving my own flesh and blood. it is not worth it.
no. sacrificing a night's sleep can create havoc surrounded by your own body. you will be more stressed than you are now. you will be more prone to infection and malady, because your body is not rested and things will take longer to restore to health. you will be mentally exhausted. stress can cause a range of little annoyances, like blemishes or facial muscle tics. missing a night's sleep is NOT going to oblige your situation at all.

Do Journalism and Marketing jump appendage surrounded by foot? Need some professional warning please.?
Question:
I am a freshman at Iowa State and have other had a vehemence for journalism, but it does not pay capably so i was thinking in the region of doing a double major surrounded by marketing and journalism. I was wondering though is this a biddable idea? Would I be capable of get a situation that would have me use both majors or would it be a idle away of time to double major? Thanks!!
Answer:
A double focal with marketing and journalism isn't a unpromising idea, but a better avenue is public relations/communications and journalism. Much of public relations is dealing beside the media, compassionate what is "news" and writing in a journalistic style. It is also considered a close cousin of marketing. It pays better than journalism and uses various of the same skills. You might also want to consider computer/Internet design courses.
How much do you an hour when your every twelve months income is $33.000 and how did you bring the answer for hourly rate?
Question:
Answer:
33000/12 =2750
2750/160(hours per month average-40 hour weeks)=17.19
$15.86 per hour. The hourly rate is calculated by taking the annual salary and dividing it by 2,080, the number of hours you work per year (52 weeks times 40 hours per week).
$15.86
$33,000/52 weeks surrounded by a year/40 hours per week = $15.86
If you work full time (8 hours a day and 5 days a week) and in attendance are 52 weeks in a year, you will enjoy 2,080 hours in a year. Divide $33,000 by 2,080 hours and your hourly rate is $15.865.
I'll speak about you how it's done, but you get the answer yourself. $33,000 a year, 52 weeks within a year, paid biweekly equals 26 compensate periods, usual settle up period is 37.5 hours...or 40. Multiply 26 by any 37.5 or 40, your choice, which will give you total hours worked contained by one year. Divide 33,000 by answer and you will have hourly wagehell, I focus that's how you could figure it out. Good luck.
40 hrs a week...52 weeks surrounded by a year...do the math and it a little lower than $16/hr
you divide the yearly income($33,000)by the number of weeks surrounded by
a year(52) and then divide that answer by 40(the commonplace amount
of hours a person works per week and you acquire the hourly rate
($15.865).
My employer refuse to settle me!?
Question:
I worked for my brother for a week and he refuses to clear me. His company is owned by 4 men himself included. My brother drove me from Washington to California when the week was up and he refuse to pay me because he said that the gas alone be over the wages I was supposed to receive. Im wondering if nearby is anything I can do to get my money. I did not sign a w-2, as an hand I wasnt given one to sign. Does anyone have any suggestions that could serve me get the money I worked rock-hard for?
Answer:
You can sue him in small claims court.
Contact the Wage and Hour Division of the US Department of Labor at 1-866-4US-WAGE, or at www.dol.gov. Good luck!
Tell ur mom.
I would only get another profession. I can't believe your brother would do this to you.
sounds like you entail to whine to your mother about it. That's probably the merely way you will seize it. However, there is no instrument it costs more than $500 to drive from even from Labrador to california, even in a semi truck. He is man cheap.
Dude, that's not an employer.
And it doesn't sound to me resembling YOU were doing HIM a favor, but HE be doing YOU a favor in giving you an opportunity to do something and I don`t know earn a buck or two.
Did you have a written agreement?
Was it in truth violated?
Are you prepared to claim that as contracted income on next year's taxes?
Did you really work complex, or just harder than usual?
Take the owners to small claims court. If they are smart they will foot you before it go to court.
If they take it to court, as long as you did not take home any kind of agreement next to them that the gas money was coming out of your foot, they cannot legally withhold it, no issue how far they had to drive you.
OMG what a great brother he is - all right ya first lesson is to never work for him again.
Secondly - do you have a solisitor? you obligation to seek guidance big time!
If you didnt sign a legal binding document, later your only opportunity is to call trendsetter judy.
Labor laws differ from state to state. You necessitate to check with your state's labor and wage board to find out which, if any, rules be violated. Also check with the state contained by which your brother's company is based and if the errand was done within yet another state, check in that as well. The state I'm within, it's illegal. He made the choice to drive you to the worksite, it's his problem. It's also a despoliation here for him to employ you in need filling out the proper paperwork unless you are considered contract labor (he still can't withhold wages though).
Get a advocate...or at least threaten to capture one.
You should take him to court because he elderly you money and you didn't get it so nick him to court. Or find another job and after quit.
That is sad as I doubt it be that much money and he may lose you due to his behavior. I am sure your family will also find his behavior wrong as very well. You learned something major about your brother.
That sucks that loved ones would do that to you, sounds pretty disfunctiional to me.
How do you settlement next to a coworker who is trying to attain you fired a moment ago because she doesn't close to you?
Question:
I have a coworker who tell lies about my competence of work to our boss. It's my word against hers. I avoid talking to her unless unquestionably necessary and own to keep my voice low because it "bothers" her. She stabs everyone contained by the back that she works near, she's proven it time and again. I am not the only one she picks on, but I become her target relatively often and don't even know what it be I did most of the time, if anything!
My boss seems to become conscious this woman's personality and our issues near each other, but never does anything roughly it- don't know there would be anything to do anyway?
My disappearing is not an option right very soon, and I doubt she will either.
Any thinking on how to save my reputation around this woman?
Thanks!
Answer:
If your boss isn't taking concern of the situation then you step to his boss--and if that boss doesn't do anything you go right on up the stepladder until something gets done. Keep a written log every time she does something so you enjoy some ammo. Tell your bosses that she's creating a hostile work environment. If you have any co-workers who also discern the same as you bring them along with you when you travel to make out a formal complaint.
That's another thing--if you work someplace that have a human resource department you can go nearby first if your boss isn't doing anything. They'll have you flood out some paperwork maybe so bring in sure that you bring your ammo along with you or you'll look petty and vindictive.
File a written complaint next to your supervivor.
List exactly what your complaint is...don't use terms stab contained by back ect...
Just say--you want to inform regulation of this situation because her mental state seems to be getting worse.
they can speak to other ect--as they deem basic...
You need to draw from it in writing formerly an incident occurs that could gain you terminated...
I FEEL FOR YOU I SEE IT ALL THE TIME AT WORK BUT TRY TO AVOID HER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE which is probably hard but if you know your opening well step to work do it and go home thats what i do dont quit thats probably what she wishes good luck.
