I am also a student of chemistry and have this same doubt a year ago, but I became convined that I will stick to chemistry because I love Chemistry. Also, everyone is going to the IT pen now. So, even if you are well brought-up in that, you can't differentiate yourself. But, Chemistry is a lord science. It has maximum amount of applications. Imagine living in need clothes, food, plastics, oils, medicine,...these are by-products of chemical research. After completing your undergraduation and postgraduation in chemistry, you can progress for research and development and do research surrounded by the following fields-
1. Textiles and fibres
2. Dyestuffs
3. Foods
4. Polymers and Plastics
5. Paints, Varnishes and Surface coatings
6. Oils, Olechemicals and Surfactants
7. Pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals
8. Biochemistry and biotechnology
9. Stem cell research
10. Nuclear Engineering
11. Novel Catalysts
12. Perfumery and flavour

It is definitely easier for a Filipino to bring back a job within the US as a nurse, as thousands of others have done.
But even as a chemist -- if you own the experience and the academic conditions necessary -- you can find a brief in the US. Though it won't be as jammy as a nursing graduate where recruiters are a plenty surrounded by the Philippines.
You may have to travel to the US yourself and apply for a commission here (though getting a tourist visa for a Filipino nowadays is similar to going through the eye of a needle). That way, the employer won't hold to think of transporting you from the Phil to the US merely for the job interview.
Or you can clutch graduate studies in the US. It's deeply of expense, even though the Phil peso is appreciating to the dollar. But that is one sure channel of getting an employer to sponsor you.
Applying through online services such as Monster.com or CareerBuilder.com won't usually work because there is the added consideration of the employer sponsoring you to provide you work visa.
My advice is to verbs your studies and gain experience in your pasture first in the Philippines.
