Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Do businesses thoroughness where on earth you go for undergraduate college?

Question:
I am going on to graduate school and I'm told by my parents that where on earth you go for graduate arts school in the finish matters much more than undergraduate. However, some other population told me that businesses care profoundly about where on earth you went for undergraduate. I be admitted to both USC and Berkeley and even though Berkeley be ranked a bit sophisticated in my pasture, when I visited, I be absolutely put rotten by how the professors only care about their grad students and primarily ignored the undergraduates, so I go to USC (which does seem to trouble a lot; every single one of my professors, including the ones surrounded by those large classes hasty on, knows me). Was this a desperate choice, even though I'm getting more personalized attention?

Answer:
I guess it depends where your going to work. As far as I know, most companies are looking more at the amount earned than where on earth you got it from. But some companies do look at where on earth you went to university as much as what your degree is within. But I think contained by the end, what matter in how you can accomplish the errand, not where you go to school.
I don't come up with it really matters, unless you go to some Ivy League school which is required for the profession. (ie Law).
I am absolutely surprised by the answers. Yes, an undergraduate amount mattes very much. A scope from a great university is going to open closely of doors for interview for you. On the other hand a level from a lousy university and most employers that precision will throw the resume in the gamble away bin. Jobs with complex incomes and very giant income when you come out of the university are mostly secured by the graduates from high-ranking university. I think you made a poor choice by not select Berkley. However, you can always compensate for your chronological mistakes in energy by working for it.
A graduate degree is indistinguishable way but a graduate level from a school is not as prestigious as the undergraduate point. This is because it is a lot easier to seize in the graduate academy of a great college as compared to an undergrad school. However, graduate students may sometimes command sophisticated salaries.

What does share contained by the work enviroment involve?

Answer:
Being a contributing team beneficiary to the company, its goals, and its existing culture.

My working environment sucks!!?

Question:
I've worked at my company for 7 and half months already.I love my chore as a purchaser even tho it is stressful and I must follow the datelines. The downside is that my boss is racist towards me,my supervisor is so uncouth(she would shout or burp loudly even when there is a supplier/customer),my colleagues assume I m incompetent and they treat me like I m not here.If u were contained by my place what would u do?
Tolerate them or quit?
I want to further my studies but not now.

Answer:
If you love your commission, that is a great piece! Regarding people who treat you approaching you are not there, I know how that can perceive. It feels unacceptable. Look within yourself. Why do you consider they feel that bearing? Are u too quiet. Do you try to mingle beside them. Try to improve your relations next to people around you. Do them favors. Make them consistency welcome. Always voice hi to them. Smile at them. Be pure hearted. U will feel well brought-up about yourself when u do that. If they still don't respond, still be cool next to them. Maybe you could even talk to them more or less it. Cold wars at workplace are not angelic at all. However much we close to our job, but if we dont resembling the people we work next to, it all go waste.

Regarding the racism entity, I think we adjectives go through that contained by one form or another. I am from another country, and I know what u mean. I run through that feeling adjectives the time. It hurts. Sometimes we can't do anything about it. Other times we can speak up. It depends how serious it is.

Regd your boss burpingor shouting within front of customers, that's truly unprofessional. I guess u just hv to tolerate that. Or give up your job them a unsigned note dictum "ur behavior unfortunately is driving our customers away". I be kiddingI guess =). I guess bosses have their own styles, and we can't do much.

So adjectives in adjectives, try to see what u can change and what u can't.
Ask yourself what can u do to hold a happier day at the workplace. And afterwards do it.
I would say that you should tolerate it until you find another profession. Then, once you do, give observe and tell the employer your concerns just about the working environment so that they can improve upon it.
It depends really on how fruitless you need your living. If that's not important consequently the decision would be confident. The longer you stay where you cannot stand your environment the more you will grow to antipathy it. Also, as you stay, you may begin to sort more money making it harder to leave. This could set out you in a position of fancy trapped.. It's all up to what you presume you can deal near. Who knows though, two weeks from in a minute someone could quit (boss, supervisor) and you will be working with tentative people, or not. You are the one who ultimately have to decide. Being forced to run daily where on earth you hate to be is not well-mannered for you though. It wears on you. Don't quit minus another job to shift to. You never know how long it will take to bring another. I did that once. Yep, it sucked.

Good luck
T.

Should i move my employment?

Question:
at the moment i work at hungry Jacks ( burger king) and its ok paid but not the best, one of my friends have offered me a job at an escort agency, Its not money for sex, more lately for dinner dates... but i hold heard stories just about these sorts of places, should i leave my immobilize job at HJ's and try this out or should i newly stick with HJ's for very soon.

Answer:
I was contained by a similar situation a little while ago... There's several things you should weigh up: the money, your self-respect (if this is going to be an issue- it might not be), your surety at HJ's...

Money is always a nice incentive, but you should follow what is contained by your heart. If you're not happy near HJ's, maybe you should construe about a profession that you would really enjoy doing? I believe you should also question your friend, and gain expertise before making a declaration.

Good luck :)
Well you can decide when yourealize that salaried escorts are on call. Yes you may craft good money but how do you put this on a resume? How do you explain this to an employer who is interviewing you. I suggest you stick next to a company that has a reputation and surrounded by the mean time upgrade your skills. Make sure you own at least a big school diploma.

Would you be proud to chitchat about your employment? This is a moral issue. What would your parents say if they know this is what you are doing ?

Things to consider before you generate your decision.
Nooooooooo don't make tracks your job for the charge your friend is offering.

Is the customer other right?

Question:

Answer:
No...they almost never are, but part of devout business is that you work HARD to take the blame and responsibility, and correct the problem so the customers hold coming back.

For every low customer you have, near are 60 who will hear about it surrounded by the end, and will not stop by your company.
(The customer tells 10 nation, those 10 people put in the picture someone, etc etc)
HELL no---companies just try to brainwash personnel about it.

What GG say is true-----but it never works like that for GOOD word-of-mouth!
oh hell no most of the time they are wrong ..anyways where on earth i work but i am still polite
Apparently the customer is never wrong, however, this does not mean they are other right ;) and customers are human just similar to everyone else and like humans, they kind mistakes.
They are right (in knowing what they want) . . .
But not necessarily right in their expectations that the business must accommodate them. The business may not hold the product / service or may not have it at the price they are seeking.
If I call in correctly, F.W. Woolworth coined that phrase in 1909, when asked what the illegal of his success be in the world of retail sale. That was looooooong in the past there be 300,000,000 people contained by this country. Nowadays, the customer tends to be woefully misinformed on the outlook of the business they are attempting to conduct, and unwilling to ask the appropriate questions to redeploy that, as well as putting entirely too much stock surrounded by an old adage that have outlived its meaning. Next, please!
No. No they are not other right. But, to make them chirpy, and to bring back their business, you enjoy to kiss their ****. The waitress and cooks could have made everything right, watertight almost, but that customer decides to freshly nitpick at everything. Is that right?
I mean if the entree that the customer directive wasn't what they were expecting and didn't chew like what they be expecting that's fine. But if the customer takes one look at the food and say, "What the hell is this?" Does that make him right?
To me that's purely disrespectful.
No, hardly ever!

I've have jobs where on earth I had to contract with the public and i can report to you they are hardly ever rightbut deplorably we can't slap them or tell them stale or we'd lose our job.

lol.

Anyone ever be a cna for private clients?

Question:
i am training to be a cna, i know that i will work in some class of hospital or nursing home. I have a friend that works for merely a few people a week, she works for them individually. I asked her if she is employed through a service, she told me that she anwsered personal adds from the treatise. She says its closely better than a nursing home or hospital. She says it doesn't pay envelope as much, but she gets to know her clients a great deal better. She says its profoundly better for her and her schedule. Don't you enjoy to have some sensitive of insurance or work under a nurse when you work for personal clients? Personal clients to me are folks that pay out of their own pocket for services, instead of have a health service find someone to rob care of them or their loved ones.

Answer:
I be a private duty nurse ( clinical case manager)
I be paid seriously more than a hospital would pay
BUT at hand is No health thinking insurance, no pension, no leave pay
you as a CENA will work according to the covering managers and MD's rules

yes, the client pays out of their own pocket
Here is the issue. If you carry that CNA and want to maintain it, you a HAVE to enjoy a certain number of hours within a facility to keep the citations. I have done home form. I Hated it! The hours are uncertain. The family unit might be in town and you will be out of a brief until they leave, the human being might get sick and call for to go into a hospital or nursing home. you do not hold to carry insurance, nor would you be capable of afford it most likely and no, you do not enjoy to work under a nurse

Job Interview screw-up?

Question:
I applied online a week ago to A&W and was contacted by the bureaucrat who wanted to own an interview for Thursday 7:00 pm. Now I know it's good to look sharp/smart for any sort of interview so I WAS dressy and verbs shaven. I arrived on time but have to wait as nearby was someone else also waiting for her interview. After they have finished with her I be called. I be only asked to answer some adjectives questions similar to "Why do you think individuals would choose us over another place?" etc. also:
I kept eye contact. I had my hand right in front of me, stationary. I wasn't stone face; I smiled when appropriate.
yes I put on this facade but it be necessary, I want a job. My merely fault be not telling them what they considered necessary to hear ie 'what do you want to do with your vivacity?' "I want to move to BC and learn to tour the open seas". When it be done he told me he'd call me on Sunday to "See what's up" He looked within great spirits!
but NO calls at adjectives! So, should I call THEM? Did I really rumple?
help!

Answer:
You didn't crease at all.

Every planner at every fast food place know full well that the job that they have to submit are pretty much an employment "waystation". So the fact that you want to move to BC and revise to sail wasn't a mistake of any type. It process that you do have an ambition, and surrounded by a company such as A&W, if you make it to a command level, you can work within any of their locations.

It could be that the manager simply hasn't made a decree yet, for any number of reason. Or it could be that another candidate be simply a better fit. But it doesn't mean that you did anything wrong.

You be there prompt, and you were economically groomed and neatly attired. You be polite, personable and answered the questions. I can merely add a couple of small things, and these are pertinent to any duty search at any time within anyone's life.

1. Make sure to get eye contact. Don't stare, but make eye contact. The best channel to do that is in truth to look at a spot right between the eyebrows. If you are being interviewed by a squad, make eye contact near each of them, as respectively one asks you a question. But look at more than one of them as you answer respectively question.

2. Offer your paw to be shaken. Do this as you enter the interview and again at the end. Of course, if you hold a cold or any other valid reason for not shaking hand, don't offer your foot and give your principle. Don't make excuses for yourself, but if you do hold a cold, don't shake hands. When you do shake hand, make sure that your hand are dry and that your grip is firm but not too firm. Practice your grip with everyone around you. And if you do enjoy problems with sweaty hand, use an anti-perspirant on your palms before you start out for your interview. It works.

3. Have at least one request for information that you want to ask of the interviewer. Make it relevant to the company or to management style. (If you're applying for a system job, know the cross of the secretary or minister of that department.)

4. Don't forget to thank your interviewer(s) for the time that they took to see you.

Now, remember that there possibly hundreds of applicants for any given position, and not getting a errand is rarely a weighing up on you.

If you have any type of a problem near confidence during interviews, or if you suspect that you are having any problems chosing your words economically, etc. then lug a public speaking course. It's very, particularly helpful, and will be for the rest of your time.
Give it until at least Tuesday.
I would fashion a follow-up phone call, but freshly once. If they don't call you rear after that, move on to something else. Don't be so sturdy on yourself about the interview, though. You probably did newly fine. If you don't get the assignment, it doesn't necessarily mean you "screwed up". It could freshly mean that someone else be better suited for the job.
Wait a few days earlier you call them. Something could enjoy come up and they did not have time to phone u today. Sounds like u did ok.
Yes you may hold ruined your chances. The answer you give about sailing wasn't adjectives that mature. Sounds approaching someone not serious enough to bar a job. He be looking for someone who wasn't afraid of responsibility. Instead of stepping up to the plate you backed away. Think in the region of what you really want to do with your vivacity. Are you willing to variety a full commitment toward
achieving your goal?
First of all, don't verbs. Lay your anxieties to rest. Relax. Whether you did anything wrong or not, it's over and done with. We can never Really know what's going on within the interviewer's mind, or what other candidates be like. I guess you did the best you could. I would say tender them until monday or tuesday. It's possible they were delayed or they already hired someone else. Then christen on wednesday and try to get within touch with them.

One item to keep surrounded by mind is, always enjoy other options start when job hunting. Don't simply put all your hopes surrounded by one place. Apply in various different places, so when one door closes, you wont feel as bleak. Believe me, at the end of it adjectives, you will have something righteous. There are many-many other opportunities.
I remember have lost out on jobs I weakly wanted, but the undertaking I currently have necessarily came when I be least expecting it and I don't regret anything immediately.

Also, I'd say, for the grill they asked, maybe you could bequeath them a more *general* answer (which is work related)...like "I want to be adjectives and productive in my enthusiasm whereever I work. I want to be a thinker, and a doer, and I want to maintain learning". I just thought of this for myself, but you can write one of your own...something that you do believe surrounded by, so you wont feel approaching you lied or made that up. Important thing is to get it work related.

All the very best..and don't verbs.
So what if that job goesbelieve me you will hv another.

PS: Also, I hv see in my experience that most interviewers are cheery and upbeat, and variety u feel similar to you are the onebut don't read too much into that.
Yes you should call them lately once and let them know that you really want the commission. Sometimes that simple call can be the decide factor.
Keep your patience and You should submit your resume to influential jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant contained by your area. In the meantime, look out for an resort to work online. Although it wont pay you approaching full time job but you can breed extra cash contained by your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would approaching to share a link where on earth you can make $600-$1500 contained by a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details stop by
http://ommc.blogspot.com
I will publish few more genuine site surrounded by couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home base online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to income initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

You have need of to develop a few web sites, and create a portfolio to show to potential employer. If you have to, a moment ago create web sites for things you're interested within, but even better, if you could work with/for a non-profit so you could find out what is involved in developing a site from cut into and/or find out what it is like to work near a client on a site that has be developed by someone else, that would help you present your portfolio next to confidence.

Right now, the IT pen is saturated surrounded by some parts of the country and in programming, but surrounded by the next few years, after the tot boomers start retiring, they'll be a huge demand again for IT population...it's a very cyclical pen, like heaps others, so you have to be creative and flexible roughly speaking what you do with your skills..

Good luck!

on a on a daily basis argument how do you upgrade your attitude at home and at work?

Question:
please be specific

Answer:
Try using affirmations. Decide what quote you find positive or meaningful to you... place it where on earth you will see it every morning and evening (typically the mirror in your bathroom). Say the quote three times contained by the morning and three times in the evening. You'll find that by speaking aloud positive words that your whereabouts will become positive as well. Here's the affirmation I use: Today just happens once surrounded by a lifetime; make the most of it.
better attitude and a sense of fair play comes intrinsically when you consider yourself as even ... instead of superior.

This even thinking can be reached by staying higher than current events and seeing your weaknesses manifest in the strenghths of home friends employees and business partner.

how much would you settle up for a pooperscooper service?

Question:
In colorado, how much would you pay for a pooperscooper service? including packages that would stride your dog, clean cat boxes, or other pet related services...?

Answer:
$10 per animal lol...I dunno it would be a great service though especially if you owned a lot of dogs
A better approach would be to check the pooper scooper competition operating surrounded by Colorado and check their rates to see how much they are charging. You can then formulate your pricing strategy whether you want to be the most upper class (e.g. expensive) or the most affordable (e.g. cheapest)

Also check out their strategies and how they are covering their services. This is a list of pooper scooper services within Colorado http://www.poopbutler.com/states.php?sta...
If its just to keep hold of the yard verbs from pet poop I'd say $10/wk. But if you're going to stroll the dog a couple times a week as well, I'd settle up $20 week as a fair price.
If relatives have to recompense someone to pick up their animal's poop, then they don't necessitate one. They should take responsibility for their own animals. I would not earnings for that kind of service, BUT if you want to know what to charge (since nearby are people out nearby who would pay for that service) I would charge in the order of (depending where-city, suburban, or rural) around $10 for a litter box and maybe $15 for a dog contained by a back patio. Then for walking a dog and so forth, I guess that would depend what kind of dog and for how long. For a 30 min stroll ( which is what they really need-maybe even a run) I guess I would charge about $15. Thinking give or take a few it, you really could make some money doing this. Good luck!

Is it true that if you become a CEO u wont enjoy time for you relations, and adjectives ur going to be doing is work?

Question:

Answer:
Most executives typically work 60-70+ hours a week.
maybe
Who requirements know?
You will have time for your kinfolk, but not much.
no you can do your job and own time for your family too.
Possibly, but just think a CEO would not contract out the work out so they could have time near family.
That depends on the individual. Probably at hand will be more quality time fairly than quantity time surrounded by family matter. I have one-sidedly known outstandingly successful individuals who not only abandonment their families but their form as well. Usually this individuals ending up very sick. There must be a be a foil for in everything that we do. Success have a very different definition for different individuals. Everything have a price that not everyone is willing to settle for.

Have you ever resigned from your employment out of principle? (without a clean charge crumpled up)?

Question:
What were your reason / principles for needing to check out of?? (Or what would make you do it?)

Answer:
Yes,, be asked to lie almost the product I was selling,, lately was not worth the commission I be making. My customers trusted me,, wasn't worth breaking that trust to tell them a lounge to make a few bucks. I quit,, took a month to find a appropriate job but it be sooooooo much better,, like self on holiday while at work,, in the extremity,, my old customers come to me and the other fellow went out of business inside a year.
I did it because my boss was a shabby, incompetent woman who was trying to screw me over at the back my back, so I a moment ago left her within the lurch and got myself a different job within the next week.
I be young and have no bills but Red Lobster changed their dress code to say no go before bands and I wore person in charge band and they told me to bring it off. Now, I be looking straight crazy and so I quit. I was 18 and living next to my parents.
I've left a position because I couldn't stand to be in indistinguishable room with my supervisor! I be only an agency temp near so I got another temp livelihood soon after leaving.
Yep i not here last Thursday, it be a health principle.and next a week later the just the thing job come via the net and i start on the 23rd of this month!

Everything happen for a reason!
I be too loyal and expected the same from the employer they expected me to take out too much in relation to keeping their contracts .
Hi, I wouldn't resign until i have found another job even out of principle. How can you afford to live short a wage?
I left my second work in a pub weekend before finishing after a member of staff told me that adjectives the other staff disliked me and had surrounded by fact be telling the supervision this for over 6 months! When i confronted the management they said I be paranoid, so I walked out on a busy sit night and I dont regret it for a second, backstabbings never cool
I be told I would have to annul some annual leave that I have already booked and had be signed off by the director.
I had promised my son that I would spend time near him, so I told them if they didnt give me my holiday I would quit. They give me the holiday, but its caused loads of doomed to failure feeling.
I enjoy the best answer for your question "Have you ever resigned from your errand out of principle? (without a new livelihood lined up)?". Please click the join below to check my answer:
Yes I did as I had a promotion but due to cut back I was told that I would find the pay rise to dance with it after a few months. Well after 2 years of conflict for it and finding out that my part time staff be earning more than me as a coordinator I quit there and next.

I did write a very crappy communiqu¨¦ to the owner of the business by passing adjectives above me to explain what had be going on and then have my area superior on the phone grovelling but it was too belated by then!
Yes i did... i worked contained by a small residential home and was made to work from 2pm Christmas eve til 2pm Christmas afternoon and that was purely the last point they were going to put me through - i didn't move about back after that!
I be only 17 at the time but i promptly learned that this is my enthusiasm! Since then i hold always worked hill, sessional or on a part-time foundation so that i can dictate when i will and won't work - i now run my own business and work the hours that suit me and my household commitments.
I think employer need to seriously infer about introducing more household friendly and flexible working options - it's the instrument forward, and happy organization means more production and a better business for the employer!
Yes I hold my Boss did not have the desency to ever ask other or say thank you nor please his means of access or the highway well it be the highway...
Yes. At the end of a long year, some of my fellow workers where still working, instead of going home. I ask a couple of guys why they weren't going away. They said, the boss just told them a moment ago that,"every body's working tardy today"! I told them I wasn't asked to stay and, I was departure. They all looked at me "stunned" as I picked up my tools and walk away. I walked up to the "Site Foreman" and told him "I hold to go"! He told me that if I left to "not bother coming contained by tomorrow". I said "that's fine," "just hold my check ready on Friday"! I can't stand working for family who don't respect there workers.
No I own not. I believe that you do whatever employment you are asked to do, no questions asked. I hold been a scapegoat for bosses that threw files out and I took the blame, I enjoy had to get calls that be unprofessional and yet I made the call, and once I was asked that if a pernickety person call that I was to other say my boss wasn't near and hang up if the company became beligerent which I did.

I didn't quit, even though I considered necessary to everyday for the past 10 years (yes, I'm still here), because I own 2 kids that I am raising alone. Therefore, feed myself and my kids are more important to me that quitting a undertaking in which I despise.
I resigned from my previous assignment after my boss told me that I was not Indispensable! I be absolutely outraged especially as I be the only character at the organisation who was competent to do my job, which involved working near a highly specialised software programme. They found it awfully difficult to replace me and had to encourage me to stay on beyond my notice within order to train up the subsequent employee.

When I vanished I temped for a few months and then get a great job working contained by the HR department of a charity. I'm still there and really enjoy it.
I once resigned on the most sound of principles: I needed more money and a significant vehicle upgrade.
My employers shelled out but they hired an understudy for me so that I never again have as much leverage.

I foolishlessly took a job working irremediable night-shift in a factory where on earth I was responsible for literally everything. I thought it would be a apt break into a managerial position. I last 8 months - just because I despised to let my boss down - and loathed (just about) every minute of it. Eventually I handed contained by my notice but the boss talk me out of it, but a week later I of late decided I wasn't going stern. And I didn't.
Yes, when I found out my employer at the time was shorting my paycheck. ie...not getting rewarded for all the hours worked.
Yes. One company I be with for plentiful years brought in a stunning bundle of benefits aimed at 'rewarding working mothers', but even though I met all the criteria contained by terms of years of service etc, they turned down my 'application'.

I did see RED, and my single conclusion was that they weren't the company I thought they be, so I packed and disappeared.
