Legal assistant/research assistant -- any growth surrounded by these positions?

Question:
I have only just graduate w/ a BA in communications w/ a concentration contained by journalism - i've searched around for a 1st duty and found jobs surrounded by NYC as a legal assistant, research assistant...starting clear seems to be around $32,000 is that correct? is it enough for me to live on my own? also is in that any growth in these positions? if so, approaching what?

Answer:
That sounds about right for the gross range. You could patently survive on $32K in NYC, but you probably won't want to spend the money to live within Manhattan. If you went to a flawless school and hold great grades/recommendations, some of the large firms also own formal paralegal programs with stand pay contained by the $40K's but paying up to $60K when overtime is included.
In Canada legal assistanct are within demand but the nouns that really is in constraint are conveniencers for real estate imperative.
The rate sounds about right. Right presently in the US the average rate for a officially recognized assistant is 30,000 to 40,000. The Department of Labor's outlook for this type of employment says:
"allowed assistants is projected to grow much faster than average for all occupation through 2014."

Can a Pediatric Oncologist hold it adjectives? A kith and kin and a great paying career.?

Question:

Answer:
Well, of course (except for perchance the 'great paying' part, but more just about that in a minute). Like any other intellectual medical career, it take work to balance the demands of your job advancement with the demands of your research, beside the the needs of your ethnic group, as well as next to your own personal needs. All inwardly the finite limits of the number of available hours per week.

How you direct those competing priorities depends on your own values. Want to go to every academy production and soccer game of your 6 kids? Then you're probably not going to run a 20-person lab and publish surrounded by Science every year. Remember: clinical medicine is a full-time livelihood. Science is a full-time job. Being a parent and spouse: a full-time living. You can probably do two of the three (science and spouse; clinician and spouse). To do all three you involve to be extraordinary. Remeber that most pediatric oncology positions in the US are pedantic, not private practice. That's because, unlike medical oncology, there are far a lesser amount of pediatric patients, and the centers of excellence are pretty much always concentrated contained by children's hospitals and academic medical centers.

As for great paying if you're going surrounded by Pediatric Oncology for the money, let me offer you some advice. Stop. Now. You'll live comfortably, but if you're hoping to get $200K or $300K per year right out of fellowship, then you're going to be severely disappointed. You'll turn through 4 years of medical school (read: loans), 3 years of residence (~$40-50K/year), 3 years of fellowship ($50-60K/year), and consequently starting salaries for clinical positions are surrounded by the low $100s, just similar to most academic pediatric subspecialties. As I said, you'll be comfortable. You won't starve. But it's unlikely that you'll be extraordinarly successful. It's a good paying living. Not great when you factor in your loans, the deferrment within your life (e.g., starting a family circle, buying a house, retirement savings, etc.), but appropriate.

For the most part, ancestors in pediatric oncology do their profession because it's a fundamental component of who they are as people and physicians. Not because of the money.

You can read more going on for my experiences at blogmd.samblackman.org.

Good luck.
Of course they can. Unfortunately there is like mad of need for this type of doctor because of adjectives the children that are diagnosed with multiple types of cancer.

I work dark shifts?

Question:
and it gets freezing at work...in that is no heat on the first floor building...I told the building director to please turn the heat on at hours of darkness during my shift and he said he would...the next hours of darkness, i arrived it was alike way-cold...It is as cold as it is inside than in...I don't make out why he did not turn it on...every other floor has the grill on but my desk is on the first floor so i must stay there...I construe he is doing this on purpose because every floor is toasty heat but the first (where I work) feels similar to the north pole...

I am going to talk to him again today when he comes within to work, what should I tell him? This is my end time warning him...so if he doesn't turn it on again, what should i do? and is within a way I can return with someone to come & investigate this because its ridiculous! thanks

Answer:
Dear Help,

I'm sorry to hear that your building bureaucrat is being "cold" towards you, not to mention freezing you out!

If this superintendent is responsible for your workplace, and you have made earnest attempts to hold your heating problem solved, but to no avail, you can to be sure contact OSHA ( Occupational Safety and Health Administration ) and file a complaint against your building checker. OSHA will certainly investigate him and he will reimburse fines if the problem is not resolved. Make sure you have your facts straight, anything proving that you enjoy been forced to work contained by this cold environment, any witnesses, or what have you, previously filing the complaint to OSHA. This make their job easier, and improve your chances of within acceptable limits results.
Just don't be rude and trust me PR always works. If he's still acting stupidly, a moment ago talk to the guy to be precise above him in authority. If that won't work get hold of the authority above the authority. Man you're working the graveyard shift, they should be more considerate:)))
Just turn it on yourself and don`t say a bloody article.
I would ask him again. If he still doesn't turn it on, then turn look for the controls on your floor. If you can't find them then ask him straight up why he won't turn the warmth on. If he still dicks you around then threaten to give the name the better business bureau they deal next to issues like this.
If u r within the US then you can phone up the labor board & file a grievance. But distribute him another chance to resolve the issue.
move about to HR. they have to listen plus the building planner might have basically forgot that you asked. some people cant remember things if they dont do it right away but run to HR if you ask him again and nothing get done
better go straight to the right department (ex. Admin/ services dept.) who handles the control room to turn stale the aircondition. stop complaining to your manager i guess he wont give a hand you out - he's trippin (power trip).
and besides the reason why your superior doesnt want to turn it off cus he is thinking that you are simply his subordinate.
Do you have access to an electrical outlet? Go and buy yourself a small space heating system and use it.

When he sees his electric bill it may motivate him to turn the warmness on!

majoring within biology or chemistry would be just fine b/c that's what forensics is, so you don't necessarily enjoy to look for a forensics major @ a college. Does prehistoric task force own a dress code for workers?

Question:
I was in recent times hired at a store as a logistics associate and I was wondering if they enjoy a dress code for their employees? It's a unusual store thats opening contained by april.

Answer:
Welcome to Old Navy!! Logistics is the best, you are going to love it, and I hope you have fun. I've help with the first of 2 stores and the remodels of 2 others, so you are about to procure into some fun times with your unmarked store.

Dress code:
Anything "Old Navy-like", which means you can wear stuff from other stores as long as it does not enjoy any obvious/visible brand logos on it from other stores

Some things you cannot wear:
- Licensed merchandise (sports teams, conservatory shirts, cartoon individuality shirts, etc.) - Depending on the manager, you may be capable of get away next to wearing some of that.
- Open toe shoes (unless managers present permission to wear flip flops on solid days, which happens frequently at my store - associates can NOT wear flips flops while processing shipment)
- Shorts cannot be any shorter than 2" above the knees, which, for girls pretty much limits you to bermuda shorts. Same applies for skirts.
- No strapless shirts or shirts near spaghetti straps
- No severely ripped jeans (distressed and small rips OK)
Did you ask anyone there, but?
I think you can wear anything except other competitor brand logos.

I don't reckon Old Navy would appreciate someone if they wore Abercrombie logos all over their clothing.
i have a sneaking suspicion that yoou have to wear dated navy clothes
Well I noticeably wouldn't show up to any job surrounded by a low cut shirt with my boobs more or less to pop out, or a short skirt where you can see my panties when I bend over, or a tight outfit that's suction cupped to my body. Use adjectives sense, dress appropriate, if they have a dress code, they'll bring up to date you, but if you're still wondering, just ask them.
Try this website: http://www.gapinc.com/public/careers/car...

Old Navy is owned by The Gap, inc. There may be a contact connect on that website. And it would definitely be pleasing to tell them that you are a different employee and want to know more or less their dress code.

Do you have a contact number for the arranger? They should be able to confer you that information.

If I be you I would make sure that any brief I took was on a voluminous farm, or station, because they will be employ other people too. The risk of working on a small sheep farm is that you may be the sole employee, overworked and underpaid and mostly isolated - much better to have other guys around you.

Good cultivation areas include Wairarapa, Canterbury, Southland.

Good luck!!

And by the way, crossbows are more risky than guns here - just within case you believe that guy contained by the previous answer.
ME TOO! I would love to travel there and work near the animals there and lately travel and see that wonderfully clean country. I am a substitute mentor and could easily moonlight.

Have you ever have a boss who lied to you, on the other hand CLAIMED to be a Christian?

Question:
This may have occur in my overnight case.

I was working for an Attorney up until a month ago. He sack me, and said that one reason be that he didn't need a fourth body contained by the office (twas a small practice). Hark- I call him today, and this chick who is apparently new near answered the phone.

Now, either he sack one of the other employees and supplanted them beside this new girl...or he blatantly lied to me. He also said that he couldn't afford to foot a staff of four- and, again, if he hired this new chick, he be lying to me.

On the other hand, if he sack one of the other girls, and brought in this spanking new girl to replace her, he may not have be lying to me. Maybe he lied to spare me from the truth about his reason for firing me. I don't know.

It's quite complicated to say, I know- but what is your assessment? Do you think he be lying to me then?

Crap. No wonder family hate lawyer. I guess they really are liars for hire. *Hocks up loogey to discharge upon any lawyers proximate

Answer:
As a lawyer I too hold been lied to by other lawyer, by clients, and even by the plumber. Lying is not limited to one profession. Being of a singular religion does not mean that the being won't lie.

The untried females that were hired may be getting a lower earnings than you did. Females in the allowed field usually are salaried about 75% smaller amount than males who do the same assignment. Perhaps the females hired are law students or pre-law students who are interning (work for experience short pay). Perhaps the females are independent contractors who pay their own benefits (insurance, etc) for a small net and the legal experience. Any of these could be correct, which would aim that your former boss did not lie.

If you want to know why you be terminated, you need to speak near your former boss and ask him if there be anything lacking contained by your performance. Tell him that you want to restore for your next situation. No negative legal representative comments, no accusations of lying, lately a professional conversation about what you stipulation to improve.
i've have plenty of lawyers tale to me! I hate lawyer...
He probably did lie to you and lately told you he couldn't pay a fourth party to not hurt your feelings. Then again he may hold fired one of the other people and hired someone else. IDK progress back to his bureau!
Who cares. Find a up to date job and verbs. Stop dwelling on things you can't control.
What does being a Christian enjoy to do with lying?
What if you asked your boss "Am I plump?"
What would you expect your bosses answer to be?
Did you expect him to tell you that you are not a accurate worker?
If there is a glory and I was within the only one I would believe is a christian is god. Some of the lowest those I have ever met call themselves Christians in the hopes you wouldn't find out who or what they really prayed to.
Call the firm wager on and pretend to be someone else and ask for yourself and see what the answer is. Then call again as someone else and ask for the another hand and see what is said about them. He probably lied and brought contained by a niece or cousin that needed a job. Keep a log and see if you hold a case against him.
powerfully, first off, it sounds resembling you don't have adequate information to accuse anyone of anything. heck, possibly it was his wife or daughter who answered the phone because he can't afford to earnings for an employee. conceivably he fired two people (one be you) and that girl replace the both of you.

and since you work for an attorney, it would behoove you to be thorough in your work, which you aren't as shown by this half-baked question/accusation.

so you summons him, persecute him for his Christian faith, and after to top it off, you spit on him...wow...i'd close to to fire you too!
Is it part of the curriculi at regulation faculty?
deviousness, rudeness, avarice, back stabbing, egotism, etc..?

Sorry, explicitly the stereotype but there are so copious!

Where are the "nice" ones?
Just wanted to know if you are some fail-safe person that have never told a lie? Come on man how old-fashioned are you 12? Its the real world gain out of your box and move on next to your life. To tons people in a minute days that cry about small crap similar to this that makes me progress nuts. Please someone help this poor guy out cuz i sure as hell cant...
YOU'RE FIRED.

WHY DID YOU CALL THAT OFFICE?

GROW UP.. MOVE ON..
Everyone lies regardless of professions. I've be in duplicate situation, laid off from a situation with others one and only to see months later that it is self offered again.

It's not worth bothering about. Learn what you can from your experience near. Arm yourself with that comprehension when you enter into your new commission.

I have my own place while most of my friends still live near their parents. That's what I did.

one profession that comes to mind is a real estate agent. you would run to school, but singular for a short time--8-12 weeks or something like that, afterwards you would have to sign on associations and secure a available job with a company. i live contained by ny; the class is about $400, the association dues, give or take a few $1000. you can make greatly of money, but you have to work unyielding, putting your clients before yourself, your clan, you social life, etc. since it is a commision base job. but you can produce great money if you're in the right nouns!

oh, also, a pflobotomist (sp??) a person that draws blood on populace in hospitals, dr. office, labs, etc. short schooling, can pay pretty capably.
If you start somewhere while you're still in big school and later work your way up, you could do closely of things. Entry level positions for individuals without college include: receptionist, database clerk, garbage collector, construction worker, housekeeper, cook, waiter/waitrss, exotic dancer, personal attendant, ticket clerk, banker, stocker, courtesy clerk, courier, taxi driver, truck driver, shipping clerk, and profusely more than I have time to chronicle here.
